Passenger Airbag Warning Light
I've noticed that when I turn on the ignition (press the button), the Passenger Airbag warning lights comes on for a few seconds. It goes off when the engine has started. The dealer tells me that this is normal (though she seemed unsure) and a common sense approach tells me that it is a self test system. However, the manual (Pages 62-64) seems to differ.
The switch on the A pillar is set to the 'On' position.
Any help appreciated to confirm or deny this to avoid an 80 mile round trip to the dealer.

This is normal. Happens on mine too.
I drive a lot of different cars, and especially in the US this happens on virtually every car I hire. It's just a self-test to show that the light is working, and if it goes out the airbag is fine.Paul

Just been and checked on mine. When passanger airbag is on, warning light illuminates for 2-3 secs then goes off. If you turn off the passanger airbag, the warning light is on all the time.4 x 4 x Really Far!
