Paint Fault
Hi guys Hoping for a little help
We have a MY14 XS firenze red that has developed a fault in the paint. Local landrover bodyshop guy has inspected and advised that the back end of the car and the whole passenger side needs to be painted, he has put it down to a contaminet in the paint line at the factory
My concern is what if there are other parts of the car that have the same problem..... he did advise that Landrover may tell them to paint the whole car but not heard back yet
Opinions please MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

Ok this get worse......
Landrover have turned around and said the paint thickness points to the car having some paint since the factory and are not going to do anything
I have contacted the dealer we purchased the car from and they are going to look into it, at the moment we are left with a £40k+ car with paint that is slowly pealing off around the area where the bubble popped
What the hell am i going to do MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it

Obvious question, but has the car seen paint since it was new?
Have you owned it from new?
Is there any possibility that they could be right?
If not, I would now be looking to take legal advice at this stage. Are you a member of one of the proper breakdown organisations, like the RAC of AA? I've found their free legal advice to be invaluable in these situations before. You may even be able to get free legal advice via your home insurance policy.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

From his Avatar link, it's a 2014 Model so it could be two/three years old. In warranty?Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Take it to a high end detailer and ask them to do a paint thickness check and report.
This will tell you the condition of the paint around the whole vehicle and be an independent report for any further actionMY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Take a good look at the door joint gaps and hinge locations. Does it look as though it has had the doors off / replaced / re-aligned. Has it been in an accident basically?
Good luck."Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Thanks guys
It was 10 months old, purchased from a delear and it had been one of there directors cars from new. It came with Landrover used warranty, I have spoke with the delaer they have checked at there end and it never had any work carried out paint wise.
I am going to ask Landrover customer services to get involved, as you can imagine i am distraught about this and very disapointed

Get an expert report for it, if says it hasn't been repainted then start action against the supplying dealer as that's who your contract is with, not LR. Sounds like LR is just dismissing you out of hand, well to do otherwise would admit they screwed up the paint process.

So reading between the lines ....both LR & your dealer think that you have had the car repaired \ sprayed and are sitting on their hands ...is that right?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
If you have LR finance on it get them involved as from my experience they will help you.

Started a case with Landrover customer services, will contact Landrover finance next. The dealer who supplied the vehicle is being vauge landrover have advised i take it up with the supplying dealership as the dealership who service and have looked at the bodywork are not the supplying dealership.
My next step is to have a report carried out by a well known bodyshop / body repair company and then look at my options.
I am not afraid of taking this further i have a good realtionship with my solicitor, i have tried to contact him to discuss this but he is on annual leave for the next two weeks.MY16 HSE Firenze Red Loving it
