It was difficult to know what the spec was as all vehicles tested by the motoring press were almost all fully optioned, just didn't know it at the time.

Winger will correct me I am sure, but most out of EU are one spec lower but with the same badge. i.e: SE in the UK is the same as an HSE in AUS.
Wouldn't dream of it! Essentially, though, the UK cars are better specified at all levels - that is the nature of the market. The whole thing is a bit of a minefield!

Over speed alarm - Setting Non Existant |
|
You say now that you have the overspeed alarm. I Test drove a TDV6 S and it had one, now the one I bought doesn't. I cant even get the settings neu up. How did you arrange. Is it a return to the dealer. They couldn't fix it last time. Already expecting a speeding ticket as a result. It's silver, enough said!

You and Simon should compare VINs.
Sounds like you also have a rogue spec car. If it is the same, you will find that your seat memory module is missing.

Early production vehicle specs were a bit of a mess. Some S models came out with the memory module, which you need for the electric seats - but that isn't appropriate for you car - and also for the settings menu.
Simon was without this missing piece of hardware. The S should have it, and it sounds like yours doesn't either.
How do you find Simon; well, apart from the smell and droppings, you could go to the very top of this thread and send him a PM.

Simon
Winger suggested that I share this with you as you have had similar issue:-

Mr Fish... mmm after cheeky Mr Wingers seek Simon comment I would suspect that I would smell you coming first
Anyways... yep I had to call the dealer when I first discovered my missing feature and they were told by LR that I should not have the Settings Menu at all... after a patient waiting game and more calls by the dealer to LR and my polling on here and sending my dealer the infos it was finally agreed that they (LR) would supply the memory seat module (it completes the components needed for the Settings Menu - manual seats or not).
All I told the dealer was the part number (Winger got this for me and I have now deleted the infos) and they ordered it from LR. The dealer was not able to find the part number on their system by the way...
So just tell your dealer that the demo you drove had it and everyone with an 'S' on here has it (inc me now!).
You may need to hassle them a bit though depending on how good they are. Shukers in Ludlow are very good and finally persuaded LR to divvy up the part FOC.
If you need anymore infos... such as from my dealer... let me know.
So there I was for you... well found

Checked my limiter against the speedo, and then against a handheld GPS . I've a S with no sat nav fitted [use tomtom], so not sure why, but the 'bong' is closer to acrtual GPS speed than the D3 speedo ? ..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........
