oil change
which pump do i need to buy to change oil on my 6 month old disco 4, without a sump plug.Thinking of changing the oil because it is on 7000 miles, did not want to keep same oil in for 15000 miles. I am on a service plan, what do you think.

I bought a Sealey 6.5L Manuel Vacuum pump, £48 including VAT and delivery. Think I got it through Amazon. I had to tape up the pipe joints to get decent suction, but it did the job.

Theres loads of different makes out there, if its a one off get a cheapie, anything else Mityvac MV7201
I have owned one for 10 odd years and it still works wel (80gbp IIRC) , if you buy one off of the Snap on van this is what you get, so if you decide to sell the words Snap on in the advert will shift it on pdq.
Unlike the Sealey one mentioned above Ive never had any issues with it at all.
Lots of boats need vac pumps for engine services and as smaller boat owners are naturally tight wads they will be able to tell you whats the cheapest out there that actually works.

I want a pump that fits properly and not have to add bits of tube on, which one should I get is the whole less than 5mm.
Cohiba,
the pump that I listed fits perfectly (5 cm of rubber pipe, just a turn 90° for putting the pump on ohe engine cover). I run the car 3-4 minutes, just to warm a little the oil and it empty the sump in only 3 minute, all 6 litres......Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
