with all the issues with our cranks and bearing failure was wondering if anyone had thoughts on using Cera-Tec from Liqui Molly.
ive just read a very good article on it in Profesional Motor Mechanic Magazine october issue
seems well tested by research bodies
might be worth a go

just use 5W40 my motor since started using it runs smoother bit more quiet and gets to pressure much quicker on cold start

well just stated my observation
also hear ceramizers do miracles and some run motors on ceramizers with no oil lol

IMO - products that are sold to offer protection etc won’t do much harm. But a miracle product to stop cranks and bearings wearing/failing, perhaps not.
Change your oil frequently with high quality products. They all have a level of protection and additives in them. But these degrade over use. Do some research on how often people change theirs. We are all different. I change my every 3-4 months or 3-4k miles. What ever oil grade you decide is best. Craig.

I’ve just bought a can of it. I’ve just replaced the engine in the d4 with a jag donor on 118k. It has oil changes between 5 and 9k annually so has been looked after. No harm in an additive if it helps.

I used Ceratec for many thousands of miles and the oil analysis on every oil change showed no change in wear rates. Please see the thread: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic204628.html
The most important additive I have used is a fuel treatment to keep the injectors clean. Fouled injectors not only increase crank times (hence increased wear) but also soot build up in the oil.
This is no my opinion, it is born out in the data.

im definetley changing mine every 3000 miles,i always try and use petronas oil with a genuine oil filter,plus only use shell v-power diesel

I have no personal recommendations! I live on the very far north coast of Scotland and we don’t have ANY performance fuel products sold north of Inverness so I have no experience!!

Personally, I find a huge difference in performance with v-power diesel against standard in my D4 but on the flip side of the coin, a huge reduction to my bank balance when I fill-up with v-power exploding dinosaur liquid (with additives). Discovery 4 HSE late 2015 Euro6
