Walked the fairy pools today at Glen Brittle , of course it rained again, but that's what water proofs are for!
And best news was my Disco started this morning without the need for charging overnight

The stormy weather should give some big seas on the west side of the island. I spend ages just looking, from the comfort of my car of course!

So, I've had the Disco for just over one week and we're all excited about our mega drive on Saturday (2 x kids, Springer Spaniel and the lovely Wife).
The Isle of Skye is just over 624 Miles according to Google, so will take a good 12+ hours.....
Any tips or advice? Don't really know the car well enough, but what would be a good balance between Motorway Speed and economy as an example - 70 is too slow, but is 80 a good balance?
We visit Ullapool every year and normally travel at night as the roads are clear once you're north of Preston. On the return trip we left Ullapool around 01:30 and arrived home in Northampton by 09:45, that included one stop at Stirling services to refuel and grab a coffee, if I recall the overall distance is 654 miles with the route being A835,A9,M80,M73,M74,M6,M1.
If you fancy a trip further north I can highly recommend Loch Assynt and the surrounding area, especially Lochinver and the Lochinver Larder http://www.lochinverlarder.co.uk/http://www.piesbypost.co.uk/GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

There's snow atop the 5 Sisters at the moment.
I might go up (on foot - I'm not Jeremy Clarkson) Ben Nevis on Sunday for the first proper snow of the season.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Got home, just before 10pm, so again a 12 hr journey door to door including stops.....there was certainly snow on top of Ben Nevis as we passed.....and the traction control came on as well a few times as the tem hit 1degree.
Worse part home was the M6 at the highest point, as we were down to 40mph, in the heaviest rain I can remeber driving through, loads of lightening as well....lasted about 10 mins and visibility was down to a few yards.
Anway, back home safe
I finally managed to Fish on Friday, caught a load of small Pollock, all went back in, but the best part was looking up and seeing a sea Otter on it's back swimming past a few yards off shore .....fumbled for my phone to take a pic, but it dived and didn't see it again
Will add pics of the trip soon
