Dom, there is a good point I suppose, the D3 is not a bad car is it. Not like a Ford really It does not have that 'jelly mold' look or that cheap clang when the door is closed

I've owned 4 FoMoCo vehicles and driven many others, you pretty much get what you pay for and as you don't pay a lot you don't get a lot . They're generally cheap to own and run, parts are cheap and they're fairly easy to work on.
It's their garages that are the problem, I've yet to find one where the mechanics actually know what they're doing. I had one tell me an engine had had it and I might as well scrap the car, after a little bit of investigation on the interweb I discovered all I had was a split fuel pump diaphragm which was a common issue with that engine.
Though with my current issues I'm yet to be shown that LR garages are any better...

You mean mixed up LR/FoMoCo garages in fact, now we start to understand why LR are having serious CS problems. Ford have always been able to sell rubbish, but rarely back it up. It is starting to make a lot of sense.

That is really silly. I reckon Ford have just pooled all the parts, jumbled them up and stuck them together. On that principle, any car from Ford will be the same, maybe Martin should start a web called FoVoJa-LR

More bad news... If you look under the plastic cover to the rear of the offside of the engine bay (ignore for a moment the unwrapped loose wiring at the back...) you will see the electronic control box responsible for the feeble warbling apologetic alarm sound, and on it in big letters... VOLVO.
In a sort of similar vein, Has anyone noticed the distinct similarity between Cairns blue and the Denim blue ford paint everything including Transit vans. Strangely Volvo also have a remarkably similar colour... Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

That's why I've gone for Buckingham Blue- much more regal and sophisticated. Mind you, I'm sure I saw a Volvo xc90 in a rather similar hue yesterday...
You can't even go for the naff gold D3 (apologies to anyone on the board with one- but then again what were you thinking?) because that looks rather similar to the bog standard original Focus launch colour. Aargh! Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue
Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles
