The 5.0 is no bigger than the 3.0. It's the same engine block, they just don't bore out the back cylinders on the 3.0!

Days of the v-engined JLR cars seem to be getting shorter. Great shame - they all sound better to me than the straights.

There’ll still be in-line sixes coming.
General trend of downsizing engines; 1.0 3 pot Mondeo, 1.5 3 pot Merc, MINI, etc.
Squeezing much more power per cc these days though.
The original D3’s with 190bhp V6 was a bit of a revelation at the time, now a four pot 240bhp base engine is sniffed at by some......
I’m sticking with 4.4d V8 for as long as I’m allowed to
