Reading all I can see in the thread... |
|
Plus the actual site
https://www.cargiant.co.uk/terms-conditions
It looks like sold as seen...I'd be wary
Lots & lots about the size of the company, thier trading conditions, the finance services they sell, a little bit about warranties...
£10 k limit on cash....then its debit cards at a percentage, or cheques......or thier finance.
but very very little about backing up your purchase.
They are just a sales company more into sales than customer return visit patronage....
I've looked for any user feedback & found:
http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews62021.html
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.cargiant.co.uk
https://www.facebook.com/Cargiantuk
Some ok, some good, some not so good
But I've said on here before that these are other people's opinions that could be slewed to being the good ones. The size of the plot is immaterial it's the goods they sell - the car you've got when you drive away so a look-see by someone with expertise is to me essential.
Compare this to a dealer who hopefully has a reputation & wants return business.
I've had the 30 mins to have a look at the business albeit via the net....hope it helps.
Good luck
Hopefully in a Disco ! BREXIT - done properly.

I like some of them reviews, weve had the car five days, weve had the car a week and they leave positive feedback after such a short period of time?

The site sponsor Gary Elliot buys D4's
So he must also sell them...presuming your deposit is refundable I'd Phone & ask what he has to offer...been on here must mean he's amaenable to getting an inspection done.
I've also searched for another site user/sponsor who buys D4's....in good condition....he's got to sell what he buys?
The car giant vendor seems to be as said "pile 'em high & sell them".......maybe not that cheap.
There's more than one place to buy & more than one D4 on sale.
Way back on part of the site threads (i don't go into now) I predicted that the sales & buying activity would be abundant if the new model wasn't universally accepted. Safe & easy prediction to make I know but good D4's will be being sold on readily. Maybe nows the time to look & buy. BREXIT - done properly.

Not all doom and gloom at CG perhaps! |
|
I have bought two cars previously from CG and never had an issue. My daughter recently bought an Alfa from CG. I have to explain she went for an Astra or an Alfa. When reviewing their stock against her budget it boiled down to the Alfa. Pretty car and to be fair it looked OK and on the brief test run seemed to be OK. On the way home the gear knob came off and of course the world was ending.
The tale goes on with a happy ending I think. She drove the car 200 miles to her home and on my recommendation she took it to a local Alfa specialist, we informed CG that we were concerned and what we were doing as a few faults had been discovered, she paid a nominal fee for the inspection report, telephone calls were backed up with confirmatory emails. The car overall came out well. I honestly thought we were in for a fight.
The outcome was that the car was 'fixed' by Halfords (CG's choice) and reviewd later by the Alfa specialist. Surprisingly to me CG even agreed a new £500 radio head unit. CG picked up all the bills and were helpful but slow. You can never know a vehicle until you have owned and driven it for a while. Where there is a doubt or you require peace of mind get it inspected, it is small money. D3 2.7 Zermatt silver (not another one)
D3 4.4 V8 Zambezi silver
D3 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

Really it's two factors:
The Vehicle...if it's what you want & fulfills its functions....you're OK
The Dealer .....or sales outlet can be the critical factor that separate vehicle satisfaction from a nightmare
Thinking back over many years, I've either been lucky with all the vehicles I've had & been through dealers or sales outlets that were amenable. Which makes huge difference.
I haven't had to walk or drive away from a bad place.
I've rejected LR discos (both Disco 2's one with new one with a duff engine....car replaced & one with a defective ZF gearbox..a batch problem evidently) the same dealer used was brilliant
I've work colleagues, relatives & friends who had really bad expeinces - even reverting to legal actions.
If CG has worked OK brilliant. I'm glad for you.
Good Luck ! BREXIT - done properly.
