Navigation System - Voice Tags? |
|
If you assign a voice tag to a memory point, is it possible to use the voice command to navigate there?
Can't find it in the manual.
Cheers

Yes it is, it works reasonably well. Make sure your voice language is set to "English Female" it is defaulted to "American Male"

Silly question, but once you've asigned a voice tag, what do you say to navigate there?
Is it prefixed with "Navigation...[voice tag]"? If it is mine doesnt seem to like my voice.
It accepts "Navigation Go Home" though D3 HSE V8...

mine recognises navigation go home but not much more

I gave up talking to it [her]. "CD play" was met with many interesting POIs, which you then can’t get to cancel without messing with the screen (how safe is that whilst driving). Mostly get Casinos and Hospitals, and "Radio Play" was / is met with something like command not recognised or sorry... sorry which after a while usually elicits an expletive from me!
I assumed my Queens English was faulty and stuck with lo-tech fingers and thumbs.
Interesting point though - I might give it a go tomorrow on a few more commands and if it stills seems to ignore me, I'll try the logging it as a fault with the dealer. D3 HSE V8...

Mine works great 95% success, but I don't use it a great deal, but it is good at getting to a track quickly particularly if the disc has lots of tracks. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

mossy it sounds like you have almost certainly got the same problem as me and it will need to go to the dealer. like i say mine has been in 6 times and its still not working properly. when you say navigation go home have you then tried to cancell it by voice command as mine will find home enter route but then you cannot cancell gaudance without touching the screen controls.
it is not too bad at finding the correct cd but never selects the correct track and as for radio tune that is hopeless just finds completly the wrong station every time.

Mine will never accept "Cancel" anything. I think you've just alerted me to a fault I didnt think I had
Only today I tried cancelling the "Go-Home" and no-chance. I think it found me a nice golf club though .
I must admit I assumed it was more gimmick than functional, but if others have got it to work, and assuming my Cheshire Swahili dialect isnt too difficult for it to understand, Mr. Dealer might get a visit.
This is my second Disco 3. I think the first was quite good at listening now I think about it, but this present car is on it's second compressor + the ubiquitous suspension faults so it's been in and out of the dealership. Voice control was low on the list of my worries.
let me know if you get your sorted. I'll talk to my dealer tomorrow and report back. D3 HSE V8...

i have got the service manager coming down to my work in the next 10 minutes as he said it was working perfectly when it left the dealer last week i told him no way.
i refused to take it back to the dealer and insisted on him visiting me for a change as he was so certain it was working i so i will report back shortly
