ISTR there are a few "lakes" in ScottyLand, it's just a naming thing. About half a dozen springs to mind. Unless you count all the Lochs (excl sea lochs) that are lakes by another name.

The old cemetery at Grantoon on Spey? Just had a little run down to there, very nice spot. Especially once I got my breath back.

I could have told you it was Loch Garton, but it's not in Morayshire, it's Inverness-shire.
Grantown on Spey is also Inverness-shire.
The only one you got right that was in Morayshire was Hopeman Harbour. Going on your geography, I hate to think where you think Hadrians Wall is, which is a pity.

I am aware of that Del. I was repeating a mantra of my very late father who would utter it every time I referred to a lake in Scotland. Which I often did to provoke it.
Was your run down to the old cemetery recent? We are in Grantown at the moment.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

I have the same argument with an aunt & uncle from near Stirling, they won't accept that there is more than one.
Yes today, part of a 2 mile loop that I'm running daily this week & next, twice the week after that (again per day) and three times daily the week after that. Just look out for a heavy set loon in an orange t-shirt and black shorts, and if cold "Robin Hood - Man in Tights" under the shorts.
Well that's the plan anyway!!

I always bow to the intellect of a Dundonian. I have been coming to Speyside for so long I have ceased to worry about council boundariy changes. I always think of most of around here as Morayshire. Matters not a jot to me. I have a feeling that leaving Moray just north of Tormore Distillery on the A95 south the sign says Highland. You will no doubt know if this correct but Grantown is definitely Highland area. Keep up man! Loch Garten is probably RSPBshire. Highland?
As for Hadrians Wall I have no idea. As a Scot who has lived for over fifty years half an hours drive from 'the Wall' I might be able to hazard a guess. But since you appear not to know, try googling it.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Euan, I should have remembered Pressmennan Lake as an ancestor of mine farmed Pressmennan farm and was the village baker in Stenton at the old bake house. I have distant cousins from around there.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.
