After market wheels for D3 HSE
Hi.
I know this subject has a lot of coverage and many posts.
Nonetheless, I can't find a definitive answer to the question;
What's the cheapest solution to a spare set of wheels with winter tyres for a 2006 D3 HSE?
I can't find a solution on the usual on-line wheel / tyre suppliers sites and my research on this forum doesn't supply an answer, probably due to my rubbish I.T. Skills.
So, does anyone know if it's possible to fit smaller rims than 19" to my 2006 D3 HSE?
I'd like more tyre wall depth than is available with the 19" rims with maybe a narrower wheel width.
Am I a fantasist with my head inserted where the sun don't shine, or what?
It seems that the only option is to get another set of 19" alloys and fit winter tyres to them but I hope there's another answer.
Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. I hope.
I'm using my wife's profile on this forum so please be gentle.
Cheers
Jack.

Standard D3 17" rims would be the cheapest option, sometimes cheap as chips.
Unless you've upgraded the brakes then it's 18"s & upwards.
PS My now looooooooooong gone D3 HSE with 17"ers fitted.

As DSL says 17” will fit as long as you haven’t upgraded your brakes or drive a V8. As you also want narrower Tyres this might be the perfect solution as standard D3 17” wheels as in DSL’s Picture are fitted with 235/70/17 Tyres. So you’ll get narrower Tyres with higher sidewalls and are a straight swap. Those rims will be cheap as chips so make sure to be fussy and only buy perfect ones

Wheels for D3
Thanks very much DSL and Erea.
That's very good news.
I haven't upgraded the brakes but how would it be possible to know if previous owners have done so?
How or what do I measure to know the difference?
Presumably my error lies in putting the reg. number in the search on tyre sales sites rather than the tyre size thereby giving only the tyres appropriate to the original vehicle spec. ?!
Cheers

Pherrish if it helps i'm just outside Chesterfield with a set of 19'' HSE rims sat on the drive, not pushing to sell but if you would like to come and try one on your car you are more than welcome.
