Spoke to the dealer this morning. Apparently LR want to have a go at fixing the faults as they have apparently the right to do, according to the dealer.
Dunno what I think about all of this. On the one hand the car is a nice one, but all these faults ? Also my contract isn't with LR it's the dealer. I will have to give this a wee think. Views ?

'They' do not have any rights per se, you do under sale of goods act.
It is common for one or two attempts to be made to fix a fault as that is within the scope of goodwill and looked upon favourably in the act & in court if it went that far, but with multiple faults.....
The water into the interior for me is the big No No, the others well seem fairly simple fixes ( not withstanding they shouldnt be there at all) .

Go legal, speak to a lawyer/solicitor ther can advise you on what the current laws are and what your rights are.
It's got to be worth £500 to be in the know if you've spent over 50 grand on the vehicle.
Good luck

Some of the faults are easily sorted albeit not acceptable, but the water leak is the clincher for me, the risk of ongoing damge or issues with electrics, damp etc. is too great and could rumble on for months. Only way to properly sort that would be a complete interior roof lining and trim remove and replace so I would be moving to reject on that basis as on a 60k motor thats just not on.

I spoke with the dealer today and based on the issues they now want to swap the car for another identical one. To be fair, they have been helpful and listened, never been arsey and accepting that things go wrong appear to be doing all they can. I will keep you updated. I dunno where they'll get another now in the same colour and spec but let's see.

Have you had a word with trading standards? however dealers offer to supply a new car in exchange for problem car sounds very good, as long as its the same spec and you are happy. my d4 is 6 months old and so far the best car that I have ever owned. In over 50 years of car ownership, very good luck.

Hi SP hopefully you won't get 6 other faults on the replacement car.
I wonder how many LRs are fault free - not many I reckon....

Does it have the adblue filler next to the fuel filler?

Once attempts are made at rectification I understand it is much more difficult to reject. In the past I have engaged an independent vehicle examiner to produce a report, it is amazing what £300.00 buys you and could make you quite anal about the whole but dealers take notice as nowhere to go as it's not just a matter of your opinion.
