JMC, many thanks, will drop it off at the local council tip. Not worth risking a TDV6 engine to save a few pounds.

Something else I could have added:
If you run with a mineral based oil, you can 'TOP-UP' with any other oil of a similar grade.
However, if you run with synthetic oil, you can only 'TOP UP' with synthetic oil, otherwise you will loose most of the benefit of that synthetic oil.
Finally, the older the engine, the less important it is to use high grade synthetic oil. If you have a worn engine with 100k+ miles on it, it may actually be better to run a mineral oil.
For me, I will be doing a 7500 'interim' oil change and the car will be getting Mobil1 0w40 Diesel. At the 1st service (15k), I will be supplying said oil to the dealer and so forth.
