LR Assist question
I assume that in the event of a vehicle breakdown when towing my caravan that LR Asist will recover the caravan along with the D4.
But, what if the caravan breaks down whilst towing with the D4 ...
..... would LR Assist recover the caravan ?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Of course they will, for LM customers they'll do anything as they are so rare.

Can't help with that but having towed in France and 'thinking' I was covered will be interested to find out My warranty has just run out and I am now covered by ADAC and they would, the caravan is treated the same as if it was a car, oh and any other car you happen to be in that brakes down is covered as well. Just got my membership cards through today

Yep, the reason I raised this is that my renewal notice for Britania Rescue came through today.
I had this breakdown policy covering both my D3 & caravan over the last 3 years.
Now that I have D4 with LR Assist, this prompted me to check before renewing my Britania policy.
I'll be calling LR Assist tomorrow to ask the same question....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Please report back as if they are anything like other manufacturers cover then they are unlikley to cover caravan even if its the towing vehicle broken, and if they do check if there is a length restriction

Caravan/trailer
If your vehicle is immobilised, we will tow your caravan or trailer to a destination near to the repairing Land Rover Authorised Repairer. Land Rover Assistance will not, however, be held responsible for any goods being transported.
I'm not sure that it would cover the caravan if the motor vehicle is not affected ...maybe give them a quick call to clarify 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

They normally have length limits as well, could be interesting with a long twin axle caravan.

The quote is from their Policy document ...there are no other conditions related to trailers set out in the document tbh. I would think if its a legal trailer then they will tow it ....though I still can't see them recovering you if the trailer is at fault not the motor ...but I've been wrong before 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

if the vehicle breaks down then they will recover the vehicle and the trailer (except outside the UK)
if its just the trailer that breaks down and the land rover is ok, then No, they wont recover the trailer - you'll need seperate breakdown insurance for the the trailer aloneDuncan

For whats its its worth, i was told that if your car breaksdown with the caravan on the back then the car and caravan will be recovered. However, if the caravan breaks down i.e wheel bearings then they wont recover the caravan. However, mayday rescue through the caravan club will bring the caravan back. so maybe some questions to be asked just to make sure.

Just made some calls.
As expected [and advised], NO, LR will not cover a caravan/trailer should that break down.
Also as expected, they will recover a caravan/trailer should the D4 breakdown and need recovering.
Contacted Britannia Rescue [from my old D3 policy] and YES, they do cover the caravan/trailer should that breakdown whilst attached to the towing vehicle.
Thing is though, I still need the towing vehicle [D4] to be covered by them.
So looks like I'll have duplicate breakdown cover on the D4.
But this 'premium' cover also includes my wifes car.
So for £88 that's peace of mind for swmbo's car and the caravan....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Is that European cover or just UK, and is there a limit to how many days abroad if so?

Just UK .. oh and Scotland
That's all I need, I'm not as widely travelled as you DT.
But all along they did specify UK [incl the call I made to Mayday]...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
