Germany 2010 LR4 5.0 V8 HSE Auto Zermatt SilverLR4

Hello,

my 2010 LR4 got a software update for the instrument pack - no more problems since than, no more battery warnings. And the middle display got a new design (like 2012). Wink

Hello Volker,

no more information - reason is "battery low warning", the dealer has a detailed instruction what to check and to do. And he new, that there was a fresh update for the instrument pack. This check was in September.

I think, LR has reduced the warning voltage... Wink

Hi,

today I did a few things in the car with ignition on and I checked the voltage with the hidden menu. The voltage went down to 11.8 V - no warning was coming up.

So LR did a simple thing with the update: The reduced or deactivated the warning... Surprised Wink

My dealer has not heard about it(in Norway). Any information about the update, bulletin # etc? I get the low battery warning all the time.. Evil or Very Mad

The dealer should look for updates of the instrument pack - after the update the middle instrument looks like the 2012 ones - e.g. the flow effects are gone.

When I got my D4 it had an almost flat battery so I replaced it with a fully charged one.
Now the car still believes it has the flat battery installed and keeps displaying the low battery warning when I try to run the FBH by timer or remote.
Dealer says the battery needs a full charge and needs to be 'programmed into the car' Shocked
What else would this be other than charging the battery in the way as mentioned in an earlier post here?
Will this make the BMS recognize the new battery and it's state of charge or is there any other thing to do that only a dealer can do ?
I think the BMS is a step backwards in the development of the car. If you can not simply charge or swap a battery without arguing with the BMS it's no good. Why did they change it from the D3 anyway?
To save two drops of fuel with a 2.7t tank?

Hi,

only the dealer can reset the BMS to properly recognize the new battery.

The BMS is a kind of "counter" - EVERYTHING has to be done over the BMS which is placed at the ground pole of the battery.

It is very important to do also the charging over the BMS, so connect your charger always on ground of the car and on + of the battery.

As I wrote: I don't have any problems since the update of the instrument group. But I don't have a FBH... Surprised

Also your dealer should know, that especially there is a service bulletin for the FBH problems:

I asked the Very Happy about the update. The only update he knows about is the replacement of the BMS.
As there obviously is some trouble with the BMS not recognizing my current battery we will try the cheap and easy things first and this will be charging the battery and 'resetting the counter' Laughing
I hope this helps.
BTW can the reset of the BMS be done with the faultmate?

Hi,

as I wrote above: The dealer has to check the versions of the diffrent modules of the instrument pack - he can not "know" it, he has to check it directly with topix on the car.
