Dealer performed the TSB on my moving seat and now: no more movement 'thumbsup'
Was the repair covered by waranty on your MY05? My seat rocks too and seems to come from the rear base/rails right side.
And there is a gap between the seat base and the back, and the seat base doesn't elevate fully in front. The memory function works normally though.
The problem is pure mechanical, and shouldn't be an issue on a premium car like this. LR refuse to cover the repair expenses!Land Rover - It Hurts So Good

TSB LA-501-015 covers the seat gap issue. It is caused by a failure of the seat front tilt bracket.
Certainly my first 05my D3 suffered this, and the dealer fixed it under warranty. However, as your vehicle is now out of warranty, you will probably have to pay. The book time on the TSB is only 0.9 hours, so its not the end of the world really?

Ok. So there are two TSBs, one for the gap issue(LA501-015) by replacing a new tilt bracket in front, and one for the rocking seat issue(LTB00176) witch is solved by replacing the seat base frame? Am I right?
I assume the base frame is quite expensive. Land Rover - It Hurts So Good

You don't have to replace the seat base frame, there is a newer 'fix' which involves dismantling the fore/aft motor and twisting the drive cable on one side rail only. This creates a little 'interference' between the rails and takes up any slack. The dealer did it to my seat, and it is 95% effective. It only rocks ever so slightly now.

Hi Gareth! The seat still rocks on the right side only during acceleration and deccelaration.
I'll try the DIY fix. The question is:
should I twist the right drive cable clockwise x 13 OR the left drive cable?Land Rover - It Hurts So Good

I got the same problem, gonna check with the dealer this spring when I have the car in for it's 72k km service. Did you guys get this on the warranty/goodwill or did you pay up?
Edit: Wow, just saw this topic was 2-3 years old, my bad.

I have this same problem with my drivers seat. I have searched the forum and found this fix:-
The problem I have is I cannot see the connector that is in the picture. I can see a connector but not the one that is shown in the picture, mine has different coloured cables. I can just about see the motor but can hardly get a finger on it. I think I can feel a Drive cable with my finger tips but no idea how to remove it from the motor? Is this picture from an earlier model disco. Mine is MY09 HSE.
Is the picture in above fix definatly taken from behind, as in row 2?
How does the drive cable release from the motor, modes it just pull out?
Can more access be obtained by removing the plastic covers that house the memory switches?
Sorry for all the questions but am I missing a trick here somewhere the procedure overview says "A simple but controlled under-seat adjustment"?
Any help from someone that has done this will really be appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Hey guys. I know this is an old thread, but I just bought a 2009 HSE with the same issue and it is really distracting. I have booked it in at the dealer next week, but I suspect they will just carry out the adjustment in the TSB mentioned above, so I thought I would try it myself first and see if it helped.
After the adjustment, the seat feels better for sure, however the seat now tracks at half the speed, and you can tell that the motor is really strained, and even cuts out sometimes before reaching the memory position, and you have to press again to get it moving again. Also post adjustment, the seat creaks really loudly over bumps etc.
I wasn't happy with that, so I adjusted it back again for now. Any ideas?D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

Save replacing the entire seat there is no alternative method of repair that I know of other than the tsb mentioned.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Surely the "technical" answer can't be just to squew the seat in its tracks, causing drag on the motor and slowing the speed, not to mention the seat creaking since
Can't imagine the motor will last long under that strain
I read earlier about just changing the base frame?D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

I had seat rock about 6 or so months into my new 09MY ..they used the method in the TSB and it was only solved after the 3rd time of attempting the repair. It never came back in the remaining 3.5 year I had the motor.
Could you not take it back and have them look at it again ?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I haven't let them look at it yet. It's booked in next week. But I saw this and thought I'd have a go. Didn't like the results though, so put it back. Just wondered if there was still any other fixes for this so I can ask them to do something a little less bodgy than squewing the seat frame.D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

It's highly likely that they have faced this repair before so personally I would let them do it and see what the results are like 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Sure, they may well have, (although on the phone, nobody had a clue) but all they will do is follow the TSB. I followed it perfectly, and the outcome wasn't really satisfactory in my opinion. Given that this is an old thread, I was hoping to find out if anyone had this recently (ie since the TSB release) and what the outcome was, and in particular if anyone has had a frame replaced.
The stealer mechanics couldn't even manage to install the rubber mats properly when I bought it, and threw the fitting kit in the skip. These are our highly trained and competent dealers. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)
