Update time ...
At this stage - having admitted that the wrong spec has been delivered ...they are trying to sort out a suitable solution. I still dont quite understand how it happened .. the computer system apparently specs the car correctly .. but thats not what arrived.
So at the moment I am driving the car that was delivered as a loan car. They are re-ordering a new vehicle. It will indeed be a long two weeks, but I am currenlty enjoying the drive.
I will keep you posted...

MTB, which dealer did you use? I ordered a car in March for April build and was told by the sales person 6 weeks ago that it was built and then 3 weeks ago that it was shipped.
I called up today and spoke to the stock controller as the sales person was not there and they told me the vehicle had only been made last week!!!!
The car is not now expected until August, the sales person called and said it was Land Rover's fault and that he had only told me what the system said!!!

Without naming the dealer directly - but they are on the "high" side of sydney. Who are you dealing with?
My replacement vehicle is supposed to come in August also.

Hope you guys get your very own D3's eventually.
If this is any consulation I ordered mine with a few options and one that I didn't want which was the
FAULTS OPTION
I should ask where my D3 is which will replace the wrongly spec'ed vehicle .

mtb, mine was ordered from the west of sydney - I guess they are all the same then.
I think I may give Land Rover Australia a call to express my frustrations - it beats kicking the dog.

Well - it certainly has been a long two weeks. The replacemet D3 arrived on Thursday - correctly spec'd this time.
Till then I had been driving the dealers vehicle - but now I have mine and it is loooverly. It is the MY08 which now includes the coolbox (not something I originally chose - but is now included). they have also changed the dash facia - it has a woodgrain finish in part - not too sure about it yet, but I can live with it. All else seems much the same. Now its time to set up the car for a trip.........
regards
mtb
PS - the wipers dont shudder either yet ....... (maybe they have changed something in the MY08?)

Congratulations mtb, I am sure that you will will find that it was worth the (l o n g ) wait.
At least you had the stealers vehicle to drive.
What are you proposing to do to set yours up for a trip
I would like greater fuel capacity on mine for trips, but I don't want to have the hassle of a swingaway spare. (I use my D3 in my servicing busines, so I open the top tailgate probably 10 times daily)
Enjoy

I am a newbie here but have been interested in this topic. Have hd a new White HSE TDV6 on order from April. Has been sceduled to arrive early Sept, late Sept and have just learnt today it has been delayed further to mid October, missing school holidays where we were planning on using the vehicle.
Long wait. Im a current Lexus driver awaiting my chance to enter the world of LR. Lexus dont treat you like this! LR have long lead times and seem to consistently be missing delivery dates from what I have read.

It sounds like you're getting the run around from the dealer.
Your car would be on a dealer's build sheet and would be earmarked for being shipped on a certain date. I ordered a SE V6 in May, and the dealer advised the car would be delivered late August/early September (built in July). I checked with the dealer early August and he confirmed the car was on the boat.
Now, it takes the ship 30 days to get from Southampton to Fremantle, and shiping movements are pretty tightly controlled. The ship arrived 30 August, the car has sat in bond for a couple of weeks and now the dealer's advised it wil be delivered tomorrow, prepped and then I should be able to pick up on Friday.
What I'm trying to say (in a long winded way!), is that your dealer should know where your car is, and how long away it is, basically since it was built. Aside from the wharfies' unreliability, the dealer should have an approximate date of delivery as soon as it is shipped (ie about six weeks before delivery).

Agmonty - both cars I had delivered came when they said they would - the stock controller at the dealership has access to this info and should know.
SKP - I am getting a dual battery set up initially to run some radios and a fridge but I have limited time before I head off on the first trip - so the rest will be done later.

Wait until you have a mishap. Had my 1st accident the other month (only minor passenger mirror) not my fault but insurer wants to replace the whole mirror housng as well as the wheel guard as it has a very small scratch on it. I'm looking at least 3-4 months just for the parts to get here. Surely LR suppliers don't just have enough stock for whole car orders and you would think they would send the parts by air. I'm just thankful there was no actual body damage - would be a very expensive hire car bill
