Appreciate all the effort daveyd, but as zebadee said, suspect it'll all be in vain.
No worries, (it's the least I can do, considering all I've gleaned from the forum since I signed up )

I know nothing more than that about them than that, but might be worth a look !

The flyer doesn't list a contact number, other than the claims one.
So I guess you'll just have to try the contact details as listed on the site, which I linked to.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on !

So here it is......
called a guy (Nigel Buttner) and asked him about extended warranties for private individuals (I got the impression he mainly deals directly with dealerships but anyway....) and he said "we do". He gave me a full breakdown (sales pitch) on their company, where they're based, how many vehicles they have covered etc and I gave him my story - warranty nearly up, looking to extend etc etc.
He said they offer 3 packages (the most comprehensive, which he recommended for me ) was the 'Freedom' package - Full coverage of all gearbox & engine parts, ECU, ERG and other stuff (which I can't remember ) Full roadside assistance on the 'Island or Ireland' all for the tidy sum of €595.
He did say vehicles out of warranty would have to be checked etc (so you didn't make a claim a week later ) and normal ware & tear, abuse, timing belt WASN'T covered, but I've asked him to email me a complete list of what they do/don't cover which I'll post up here too, once I get it.
Within 2 minutes, his "area Rep" called me (sound enough bloke) , so I gave him my email and he told me they're revamping their website at the minute, so you can't get all the details just yet, but you will be able to soon. In the meantime, here's the like the boss man sent me to
and go to the "Motor Pack Full Policy Terms and Conditions" link at the top of the page
So if you can make anything out of this, it'd be appreciated. I don't know enough about Land Rovers yet, to know what should or shouldn't be covered in a decent extended warranty , so any comments on my future post about the "Freedom Package" that will follow, would be much appreciated.
You never know, they might offer a Group Buy, if enough members thought it was worth it

For anyone still interested......
The mapfre guy emailed me today with the brochures for the 3 types of extended warranty they offer - once I have them uploaded I'll post up the links and you can have a look and see if you think they're any good.
Rang the local dealer to chase up the same query but no luck as of yet.......

Here's what he sent me. Listed in order of cover (and price!) the one he recommended to me was the 1st one @ €595, as it's targeted at vehicles less than 6 years old and less than 100k. The last one is €395 with > 10yrs & > 100k (I think...) so I'm guessin' the middle is around the €495 mark.
I hope this is ok to post up and not breaking any forum rules? Apologies if I am
I'm not a rep for these guys or anything
Any comments or thoughts would be very much appreciated

Hopefully it'll be of some use to the Irish members on the site it'll only be research though, once I work out whats actually covered and if it's worth it - maybe someone has one of these warranties already
I think €50 a month could be worth it, (for the top package) but I need to sus it out properly first, unless someone else can enlighten me

Just getting back to this thread again.
Excellent research there Dave
One thing though........ You might want to find out if the Mapfre warranty allows the garage doing the repairs to use genuine parts or not !
As it seems that a lot of these aftermarket warranty companies will seek out & insist that that the garage doing the work use, the cheapest parts on the market & as a result usually only go for third party parts, rather than genuine parts.
So if your car is at a main dealer, they can't just go into their stores to get the necessary parts, but must send out to a motor factors for parts & at that ring around for the cheapest price. Not something the garage may be that thrilled about having to do. Which could "colour" their view on a car coming in for work under the Mapfre scheme. This could result in a "less than interested" service department doing the work on your car.
So it would be worth looking into what Mapfre's policy is on sourcing parts for any repairs.

Thanks zebadee - that's something I'd never have even thought of I'll check that one out and post up their response.
My own warranty isn't finished for a few months, so I've plenty of time to quiz them on issues like you've identified, but I'll sus it out as soon as I can anyway
