Kirky's D4
My first D4, but not Land Rover. It replaces the wife's Evoque and I have a Disco2 owned for nearly 5 years.
Collected from Duckworths on the 15th March, black, Graphite with privacy glass and service pack. I also bought carpet and rubber mats, mud flaps, boot liner, tow bar and genuine electrics separately.
First job when home was to get the tow kit fitted, followed by mudflap fitting. I then treated all the carpets and mats with Autosmart Silver Seal.
I ordered one of Uncle Ray's wheel protectors and got that on smartish too just in case.
I then removed all 4 road wheels and cleaned and waxed fronts and backs of the wheels and painted the already starting to rust disc centres gloss black.
I then spent 7 hours machine polishing the paintwork to get it somewhere near decent and sealed with Autosmart Silver seal paint sealant. I asked them specifically not to valet it to help me in not having to remove all the polish. The paint was scratched and marked in several places to be honest.
I've had the FBH remote/timed climate activated by Bodsy and it works great. Fitted full interior leds and logo puddle lights. I've also fitted a pair of the Advanced Factors LED reverse light bulbs.
Also added the alloy pedal covers.
Now almost 500 miles I'm looking forwards to towing our old caravan to the coast on Saturday.

Looks a beast of a machine , love the Black D4's the most.
Now I shall have to shine mine for the trip to Loch lomond and maybe save a couple of mpg on the way

A decent paint sealant can give 1-2 mpg due to less drag mate

Sand gives you more aggressive acceleration (try it from standing at the lights 8) ) and sport holds the gears more.

Great choice in colour, mine was the same after the first fill, second tankful was 28.6 mpg (from road trip) including a wee jaunt down the motorway to the lakes and is now sitting around 435 for a full tank, hopefully will increase a bit as time goes on.
The paint is incredible in the sunlight, the pictures just don't do it justice, it really comes alive and sparkles. Joined the BMWX5 45e group
