Jacking procedure.
When I had new tyres fitted to the D4, the tyre fitter opened the tailgate & switched the hazard lights on before jacking up the car.
Out of idle curiosity, I asked the fitter why he had done that.
He said that he had to follow the procedure that Landrover had told them.
I know that you can adjust the suspension height using the keyfob whether the tailgate is open or not.
So the question is, does this procedure stop the car from self levelling?Mitsubishi Outlander Phev 4H 2018.

Doesn't work, suspenders will still move with just tailgate open. Needs a side door opened.
It's one of these things they are told to do so they do it.

If you jack up a D3 on Salisbury Plain in winter it will also self-level, whether any doors are open or not!

I think I need to start using your tyre fitter.

Can you qualify why the TOPIx system operation specifically states that opening a door inhibits the suspensions system and you say it doesn't though Rob 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

If it does it is not my fault as they won't let me edit Topix, can't think why.
Opening a side door does suspend a height change request but it does not prohibit it, primarily to stop a door edge from descending into an obstacle. Once the doors are closed the command is carried out. This does not apply to the tailgate or the self-levelling function; indeed, the self-levelling also helps to protect the doors.
In all cases jacking under the chassis requires the suspension to hit the mechanical limit of its travel before the wheel will clear the ground, whatever you do with the EAS.

So all the time a door is open it is inhibited. Isn't that the same as the advice which is being portrayed as folly 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Read the thread again and be careful with such selective edits.

Not sure I'm being selective ...we know that the boot is out of the equation...is it the self leveling bit you mean?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

When Martin added new sections / forums to the site recently he should have created one for DG and Robbie to allow you both to enjoy your 'discussions' more easily.....

And a voting system so we can decide who's winning, with dedicated rounds and some mechanism for a knock out thread.

Are you reading the same thread?
The question was about opening the tailgate - this was the urban myth.
Neither Del or I suggested that the side doors didn't suspend the EAS height change.
I further clarified that whatever buttons you press or doors you have open you still have to jack to the mechanical limit of the suspension to raise a wheel by jacking on the chassis. Absoutly nothing will change this mechanical fact.
I think Del and I have been clear.
