In an effort to close this loop over TOPIx I just checked to see what it says about the EAS or the requirement to the use of any doors or hazards in the procedure described in Section 100-02 - Jacking and Lifting:

Absolutely nothing.

So in my view and experience TOPIx is totally correct and does not conflict with the advice offered.

Phew - end of the Red Herring moment.

The joys of predictive text!

Somehow it seems more fitting, so I will leave as is.

Had a puncture today and tyre fitter asked me to put it in jack mode....... Shocked

He then did it for me. Lower suspension and keep button down to lock access height was what he said they'd been told to do?

So can I adjust suspension height from key fob as well? Would be handy for hooking up trailers at times.

Using a 4 post ramp gives exactly the same issues as using a jack as in reality all you are doing is raising the floor level. I have a 4 post and if you jack one end up via the chassis the car still tries to level itself. If you jack under the lower arms then it's better but if you go high enough the other end can start doing it's thing.

A 2 poster will stop the issues as Ken said but lots of 2 post ramps out there can't safely lift a D3.

The reality is all you need to do afterwards is operate the suspension and it will sort itself out anyway.

hi guys, I need your help please Bow down

I just spent an hour trying a new bottle jack to lift a rear wheel with no success.

I tried jacking on the chassis in Access, Normal, Offroad heights and the wheel just keeps dropping. I then tried in Locked Access, the same thing happened.

I also tried with one door open and it made no difference, as soon as I lift beyond a point, there's a beep and then the wheel drops.

The height of the jack at max elevation is 435mm, which I thought would be sufficient?

help please Question Question Question
