Just had my car at the valet before taking to the garage to get valued as a trade in for a D4...anyway, the boots now stuck shut
The mechanism seems to be working but by the looks of it the person cleaning it hasn't properly shut the lower tailgate leaving the top stuck shut.
Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any advice?
Cheers

Search for +tailgate +stuck |
|
Common problem, and the fix is well documented on various posts.
Click on the Search feature above and type in +tailgate +stuck
Probably 50 or more posts will come up; certain of them will detail a procedure to get the door open; others how to fix the problem once the door is open.
One of the fix procedures is to take it to your dealer - they have a lot of experience with that problem as well.
Regardless, you will have to purchase a some not very expensive latch parts.
Also while you are searching, call up +tailgate +strut and also +tailgate +bolts
An open end wrench, (10mm I think), and a few minutes will solve those other problems even the dealer groans about, and will truly hurt your wallet. 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.
