Yes, i have 2 x ipads that clip into head rest fittings, the ipads are powered from the car and i have a wifi 500gb hard drive that can deliver 500 films / photo's / documents to them, each ipad can watch the same film at different parts of the film or seperate films, the ipads are also connected to a mifi dongle giving live internet, they also connect to a wifi Tizi that gives live TV and freeview channels, the kids LOVE going on trips in the car Laughing

I think there are some pics in my gallery Thumbs Up

Must ask... How well does TIZI work?

I've considered it but seems to get lukewarm reviews. Obviously, digital coverage is rolling out but intrigued how good reception you get in the current situation and on the move.

Thanks

Tizi is the same as any freeview box with regards to signal strength, I use it on my boat and get stunning signals in most places including the Isle of Wight, it works in all of Europe but I am sure that as with any freeview box there are limitations, I'm happy with it and see it as another tool in the box of entertainment, as it runs from an aerial there are no network charges as with using your mifi dongle, so between the two mifi and Tizi we are covered Thumbs Up

That's very encouraging. Will TIVI connect to the two iPads at the same time? I read a review that suggested it would only connect to a single device at a time.

FAQ says no: http://tizi.tv/en/faq.html

No, only 1, but it's not difficult to share viewing on 1 ipad in the back if 2 or 3 or 5 people want to watch TV. As for the Tizi, that has an internal battery, but I have it mounted on velcro in the n/s of the boot space side window shelf with power from the rear socket which keeps it fully charged. I have the hard drive in a shock proof case lying by the 12v sockets in the front lower consul, but this can be placed anywhere as it has its own internal battery as well, I use all this stuff in similar set ups on my boat, at home, on holiday and in my motorhome so it is great portable value for money, the kids have wireless headphones which are great as well, a true wireless set up, apart from charging Thumbs Up

I also have a 62w folding solar panel that can supply all the power I need for these and more, this can be laid on the roof when parked up. I have 80w panels on the motorhome roof and the folding 62w adds the icing to the cake so all battery banks are kept charged.

I also bought a folding 12w which will keep things charged, these have been seen by some forum members at a meet, so I guess they could give their view on them Wink both mine are black but you can get cammo if you are into that kind of thing Laughing

Thanks. Very useful info. Think I may try the TIVI. When I checked their site, they are just about to release a smaller device to plug into the iPad port. On balance, I think I prefer the wireless.

Not heard of a Tivi, or one that goes direct into your iPad, two issues with that, firstly the Tizi I have has a pull out small aerial, as it is wireless I can leave it on the deck of my boat and go below where I may not get a signal, so that is a benefit, secondly how do you charge your iPad if that is in the socket?

Discotres, I like your set up. I plan to use a Vogel iPad2 headrest mount, which clamps round the headrest stems. Did you need to remove the headrests to fit your bracket or can the headrest be raised? I'm tried to squeeze it between the bottom of the headrest and top of seat but didn't have enough time to persist with it this morning.
