When I changes from LRI(RSA) just over a year ago they had told me that they didn't do offroad cover any more. It seemed they made things up as they went along, I got a letter cancelling my policy because I checked that my remap mod was noted. The told me it wasn't, and that they never ever, covered remaps. Strange I have a letter from the, with the mod detailed and the additional premium. Won't touch them again, even for "normal" unmodified cars.

depends who the uderwriter was at the time - perhaps they mistook offroad for SORN.
current policies are still underwriten by Zenith and offroad is covered. I spoke to them about 3 hours ago
they are also aware of all my mods and it didnt change the price other than a small increase to compensate for the cost of the car being of higher value Duncan

Do they do offroad? If they do mods, offroad & N African cover they might be in the frame next year.

dont know about offroad in north africa ?

ended up with esure via the meerkat at £480.00 although he still hasnt arrived delivery not simples
any way in similar situation to thread starter next year re new driver so admiral sounds a good idea
one thing is a pain on these insurance comparison threads is no ages are stated for the drivers so come on guys dont be shy me 45-50 bracket clean licence D3 2005 £480.00 fully comp no off road
best quote i had with off road was adrian flux £600.00 ish from memory MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

They wouldn't cover my 110 Utility because it was owned by my company....

Why is everyone's insurance so cheap?? Do you keep your cars in a safe or park them inside your houses??
LR Insurance policies are currently underwritten by Zenith.
I note that the policy specifically states a rather short list of things that it DOES NOT cover for - including '4x4 events'. As the list is fairly short and rather specific, I would be confident that 'green laning' or driving otherwise off road is fine.
I think you could also sensibly argue the test of reason that a product marketed as "land rover insurance" would be anticipated to cover the circumstances that you could find yourself in when driving a Land Rover.
I always have a problem with those insurance companies that state that they will not use OEM parts for any repair. They are insuring you so that you can be reinstated to the position that you were in prior to the insured incident. Now, in my book, if I had a car that was 100% Land Rover and was eligible to enter the LR Approved programme and full LR warranty etc, then that is exactly what I should have if I need it to be repaired.
Is it reasonable to 'repair' the vehicle and leave the insured potentially with a car that is worth considerably less than it was prior to the insured incident, because non OEM parts were used?
