I was Robbed ....Twice in a day!!!
Robbery 1 In Cardiff the other week, some 'F***ing low life scum' [and that's me being polite] decided to put-in my rear side window, undo the cover and help themselves to my stuff from the boot.
Robbery 2 As Autoglass did not stock this rear [bonded] window, I took my D3 to a local LR dealer. Said he'd patch it up for me with cardboard and duck tape, just to get me back home to good old North Yorks. When finished I asked for the bill. He said 'it's ok, don't bother, I cann't be bothered with the paperwork'...gee thanks mate....[wait for it]...'just give me a £tenner for the gaffertape [gulp!!!]
Robbed twice in a day.... .....Is It Me!!!!
By the way, anyone know how to get all the glass bits out of the moulded interior vents below this window, a vac is no use....seems a big job to remove the interior side panel trim. Maybe a serious bit of off-roading will jiggle it out or maybe I should go to Australia and it'll all fall out into the headlining ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Sorry to hear about your robberies...

Yep SteveN.... Dysons the one I have, also tried my compact vac, still no use!
Thinking I may have to try and rig up a very narrow nozzle to go through the vents, but trouble then is it may be too narrow to sook up the glass, but it may get some of the smaller bits?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

remove the tailgate seal around the area of the quarter panel and remove the support wire fronm the tailgtae spigot. remove the door seal from the front of the quarter panel then remove the torx screw just above the seatblet anchor bolt. you can remove the seatbelt bolt but it states that it must be discarded and renewed. once the seals and bolt have been removed just pull it back from the top to release the 8 clips. undo the aux socket connector (if left hand side) and if you have them the audio controls, this should be enough to gain sufficient access to vac it out. installation is a reversal of the above.

iv took mine apart...
took about 20 mins ...
you will need a T50 torx socket to undo the seat belt.
I also had to remove the 2 load ties so i could lift the piece up in front of the bit your removing (if that makes sence). There is part of the rear cover that goes under it and i didn't want to break it.

Didn't have a problem...i have been fitting various things and have proberly had every panel off , roof lining included.
Just in case your interested ..fitted car phone kit , freeview tuner (thats why that panel and rooflining was off as i was trying to utilise the onboard tv ariels ...but worked out very expensive with land rover parts ) and a reversing camera ..all linked into the touch screen.Although i still have to access these via the hack.
I have found a couple of places that will sell add on parts to make the reversing camera work when its put in reverse but again these are very expensive.

Thanks Cat for the details on how to disassemble the back bits to get at the glass in the vents. Hope I don't have to clean out any glass though.
wiggs, instead of buying expensive bits, you could get the power for the reversing camera from the reversing light wire at the bulb connection. As long as the extra load for the camera isn't detected as a fault by the computer, I can't see why that wouldn't work. But I haven't done it myself...

i dont have a problem with the power for the reversing cam..the problem is the touch screen is not set up to automatically switch over to the camera when the car is put in reverse.
Hence the need for expensive extrasG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Disco Stu, Yep was my Marin until I gave it to me boy and got myself a S Works Stumpjumper FSR.
Also you & others maybe intersested in the Bike Rack I've adapted for my D3. It's the biz, it's quick to get on and off, I can secure it to the vehicle when out riding and I don't need lightboards & number plate. I'll be puting a post on it soon [once I've taken some pics]....... always on the road less travelled 🚧
