| Should I keep the Finance Running - As fix still needed? |

I'm wondering if instead of paying the car off with LR finance next week I should pay off a lump sum but keep some finance running for the next maybe 6/12 months.
The car went to an approved LR bodyshop in September last year for paint work repairs (from new - but still left with some paint sag - after two visits - so I've given up on this one  ) and a TSB (which involves welding) to fix the ticking/rattle in the drivers door pillar - right in my right bloody lug hole that drives me nuts...!
The ticking/rattle has returned (only when outside temperatures reach 17c and above) so I did not notice over the winter period.
I've told the dealers and they said they will strip the pillars down and see what was done (if anything... ) and get a mobile welder in to get it sorted rather than get it on a low loader back to the approved bodyshop in Devon - thus the car being away again for at least two weeks at least.... FFS!
This concerns me of course... things could go horribly wrong with a mobile welder .... so I'm figuring - rather than pay off loan next week - should I keep the finance running so in the event I have to reject the car (a year or so ago since I bought it new) I could claim through the finance company - as it appears - from reading on this forum - only those with finance have had any joy 'rejecting' a car.

No, just a flouncette. 
However, I have an adversion to flouncing, so in answer to the post original question, keep the finance running andt least you'll have some leverage with the finance company, although how much I'm not sure. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

If you're financing / contracting etc. Then the lease company technically owns it.
I'd be on to them about it to see what their advice or recommendations are on it.
They may have a bit more leverage than the common man like you or I

Talk to LR finance ASAP. In my recent experience, they're good to deal with.
I wish I had done that straight away, rather than waste so much time trying to get the dealer and then LRCRC to take back my MY15 and give me a proper settlement. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Yes your right it was a bit of a flouncette ..... sorry about that .... but it did get some responses - so thank you 
I understand the car remains the property of the HP company until the last payment is made.... but I'm figuring, if I pay off most of the loan and just leave £5,000 on finance over 12 months are they really going to 'bust a gut' if things go wrong with the car/the repair ..... and I 'reject'. Not sure of the legalities/obligations - researching on line still leaves it all a bit vague for me.
I will discuss it again with LR finance but they didn't seem especially forthcoming a day or so ago.... so looking for any more thoughts please..... promise not to throw another 'flouncette' if nobody responds - I'll just  2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
