Can you retro fit High beam Assist to a D4 or is it factory only option?

I have it in the MY10 and thankfully it's not a standard item in the MY16 because I find it reacts way too slowly. Personally I wouldn't bother. Confused LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Out of interest can you over-ride it using the usual stalk operated high beam switching or does the automatic operation become the only method?

You can over ride it ... Or just switch it off in the dash settings G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I have in the past said its rubbish, bit since I had a new windscreen fitted it works fine. The only thing it's not too good at is deciding when a car in front travelling in the same direction has come into view. It can be a bit late dipping in that scenario, but usually it's pretty good with oncoming vehicles.
