Well I'm sure Adrian Flux is great however when you read the fine print it says things like "we will use the parts we see fit " ...not necessarily OEM ...which is fine in your heap del but not in my year old motor 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

When I was with LRI & thought LR parts meant LR parts. Until I had a windscreen claim then it was OEM. No amount of arguing got a LR screen. All looks good til push comes to shove.

I am with admiral currently, they say if it is 3 years old they may choose non manufacturer parts, so up to that it should be original parts, and I did get an OEM screen a few weeks ago, even when just over three years old without any hassle.

Quite frankly, if Allianz cannot or will not cover Land Rover vehicles for off road use, they should have their license to use the LR brand reviewed; and right at the top of those reviewing the process should be JLR marketing.
JLR builds and markets Land Rover, quite possibly the best-known and well-loved 4x4 marque in the world. They market Land Rover Experience through their own website as an opportunity to better understand the vehicle you are going to, or have, purchased. They also market Land Rover Insurance through their own site, and it's quoted as saying "Land Rover Insurance offers superior annual cover, specially designed for Land Rover drivers. The only thing that’s ordinary is the price." yet won't cover you for off-road use, even the non-competitive sort provided by LRE.
Now I understand that LRE is not operated by Land Rover and is, if I'm right in saying, some sort of a franchise and/or license in itself, but can you imagine calling them and enquiring about experience days, only to be told that they only do events on motorways and A/B roads!

I have just got off the phone to a senior chap at LRI and the vehicle is definitely covered for off-road use excluding paid events, trials competitions etc.
I clarified specifically that it would be covered driving off a legally defined road \ highway and into field(s), woodland \ forest and beach.
I nearly jumped in and started shouting when I read your OP DG, but for a change decided to read the whole thread and what you say above is exactly what I was told last month when I asked the annual "I presumme offroad driving is still cover..." before I renewed with LRI this year.
I think you were just unlucky in getting through to some uneducated call centre newbies, before finally talking to an enlighten representative.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

The chap I spoke to did admit that "it is a grey area" and that the oppo I spoke to yesterday should have escalated the query while I was still on the phone rather than keep saying no. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Paul AF know the value of mine and agreed to cover it ..but I'll be cancelling tomorrow as despite the LRI debacle of the last few days I still favour their policy terms.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

After 13 years of being everything I wanted from an insurer specifically for Land Rover vehicles .... LRI let themselves down today by flatly refusing any off road cover of any kind this despite me clarifying similar in previous years.
From a corporate perspective this is nuts ....they sell you a vehicle with emphasis on its go anywhere capability..... but their own insurers don't want to cover you for it.

GWG There has never been cover for off road event's which are paid for, nor competitions or time trials. This is clearly stipulated and has been previously
I wanted clarification on other off road activities which had been covered in the past e.g. fields, woodlands, beaches etc and after being told categorically no on Monday.
I have just come off the phone with Gemma of LRI Customer Services and they had listened to the tape of my conversation with the guy on Monday and subsequently wholly agreed with my claim that I had been misled by incorrect information and the vehicle would be covered off the road in the manner described.
So I have accepted their apologies and further discount to cover my costs of the Flux policy cancellation and I am again a happy bunny.
BTW for direct comparison the Flux policy cost was slightly higher than LRI's.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

So some things are still as clear as mud then.....
When I spoke to LRI customer services on 1st May, I specifically used the Kielder 4x4 safari as an example - paid for to raise money for charity but not competitive. I was told that it was covered. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!
