Agree
I will second Alan B on that. No probs for me either, however I am mainly on road with some cross field wild camping with tin tent on back ...which has yet to be proved...but soon. Would buy again for what I do.On the banister of life may the splinters always point in the right direction.

Yes Beanie I saw a bit of that thread about rim wear. I guess time will tell, however I have had grabbers before, (AT2 on TDI 300 steel wheels though), and not had any sign of rim damage. Be interesting to start a pol and see the percentage who have had problems. But perhaps it has been done and I missed it? Will keep forum updated. On the banister of life may the splinters always point in the right direction.

On my second set of Grabber AT and no wheel wear seen at last change. Chatted with my tyre guy and the thought we agreed on was possible ingress of dirt around the bead caused by jet washing. This would then act like a grinding paste. Mine are very rarely jet washed. Why this should affect the Grabber might just be down to the particular geometry of the rim guard and bead.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Do they still have the chocolate sidewalls that only have to look at a piece of flint or rock and rip or damage them? Hopefully they have addressed that with the AT3 2003 BMW M5- 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Has anyone went from Duratrac's to these?
Have run Duratrac's for the last 4 years, but with the Q rating, i'm leaning towards these as a suitable replacement.

Duratracs have been out for a few years now.
Curious how the next gen of tyres are compared to them for on and off road ability.
To see if they have moved on the game a bit or are just the same.

Mine had AT2s when I bought it at 50,000, changed to a second set of AT2s at 65,000.
At 95,000 I swapped to AT3s - now at 101,000 miles - the AT3s are definitely quieter. Because of only a few days of snow, not much chance to check out their performance - they seem absolutely fine in the wet though.
After reading the wheel wear threads I had a good look under the car on sunday - no visible evidence of any wear on the rims. I regularly power wash, however obviously the inside of the rims don't get sprayed. the outer rims appear all fine.MY2010 D4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornaway grey

I have a full set of AT3 since a couple of months ago.
Great tyres, much quieter than GG AT and perfect grip in all situations.

I have only done about 100 miles on mine so far, so too soon to feedback fully. Road noise is good, better than GG AT, and comparable if not better than Wranglers.
I have sensed a slight lack of grip from the fronts when turning (in the dry, not been in the wet yet), but I am hoping this is just as they get run in slightly.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff
