GPS Devices and Heated Windscreen
Does anybody else have problems with gps devices getting a good satellite lock when positioned underneath the windscreen (heated).
My iphone5 and wifes iphone 6 both play up, its worth noting that they are both fine in our Mini. Not tried the Tomtom unit yet.
Its annoying as we both use Google Maps/directions as it has the most up-to-date traffic on.Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Santorini MY12

The Blackvue cameras have GPS built into them, and never had a problem.

I have the same issue. My iPhone 6 which sits in a Brodit clip on the H facia panel gets an intermittent GPS signal. I use CoPilot and it won't work correctly. My iPad 2 runs CoPilot as well and this sits on the dash top, connected via a Ram mount to the windscreen. This works fine and has no issue picking up or maintaining a GPS lock.

Blackvue by the interior mirror and a Road Angel in the bottom right hand corner, both work, no problems.

I use TomTom app on my iPhone which is clipped to one of the centre air vents and the GPS signal is generally very stable - only the occasional lag among high buildings or trees 2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

I had the same set up in my Defender which had a heated screen and there was no issue. It think there may be other forces at work in a Discovery!

The thing is the Blackview is fitted to the screen at the side of the mirror and gets a GPS signal no problem, personally I feel that it is something in the infotainment system that is interfering with it Cheers Ian

It seems from MY2012 onwards there seems to be a problem as it is the same with my MY2015 as it was with MY2012
Try it at the corner of the screen and see if you get a GPS signal there
Thanks Dan, I'll give it a try and see what results I get. Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Santorini MY12

I've used the same Road Angel GPS unit in all four of my Disco's. Bottom right hand corner, no problems.
Do you have any aftermarket devices fitted, alarms, ICE etc.? GPS units didn't like being near an alarm sensor on a previous car.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
