To bring everyone up to speed.
From the posts in the sticking turbo actuator. Thread
Your torque converter maybe tired
You’re going to check the turbo linkage to see if stuck.
You have blanked the egr but need the patch

Oh yes it’s stuck it’s solid what a stupid location they have put it in I can feel the ball with my fingers from the top but no idea yet how to access properly I’ve sprayed wd40 but think it’s just all gone all over the turbo as a pose to the actuator arm its self for such a big car everything is so tight and compact I’m going to jack the car up and remove the heat shields because I cannot see how it’s possible to access from the top the Range Rover looks easier you can access it from underneath just received this back from gap but I’m feeling it’s a stuck actuator as opposed to wiring
P132B-22 Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control A Performance - signal amplitude > maximum
Turbocharger boost control A performance - signal amplitude greater than maximum
Turbocharger connections: water ingress, poor contacts
Turbocharger actuator circuits short circuit to ground
Turbocharger actuator circuits short circuit to power
Turbocharger actuator circuits high resistance
Turbocharger actuator signal amplitude greater than maximum
Turbocharger actuator fault
Turbocharger actuator control deviation above maximum threshold - Bank 1
NOTE:
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system perform theTurbo, EGR and air path dynamic test routine
Check the turbocharger and circuits. Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check - E-VGT Vane Actuator Bank A+/- (H-bridge) - circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, high resistance

Hi all got a discovery 3 with high boost pressure fault got a gap11d just contacted gap to see if they do an update that moves the actuator arm fully when key is turned I can hear it moving but cannot see it after moving the heat shields do I still need to lubricate it or should this update do the job if it exists or could it be something else entirely also got egr fault after blanking so I’ve contacted bell to see about a delete map I don’t want to remap the car because I’ve heard this can cause problems to torque converter and transmission. So I have updates available for ecu and transmission. My problems are
1 high boost
2 recirculation fault
3 revs flutters
4 vibrations through car when revs flutter feels like it’s driving on gravel
I think centre bearing could do with changing egr blank free off the actuator change all fluids gearbox trans diff engine etc. am I on right lines or am I just Censored in wind it’s my first d3 and I just want it right it’s a Tdv6 2.7 2009 hse

3 & 4 sounds like Automatic gear box, torque convertor. Do a drain over a weekend and buy upto 7 litres of cheap ZF6 compatable fluid. (straw coloured) (like ravanoil)
Test Drive, and then add Dr tranny fluid additive. purchase 2 tubes.
Look up BMW rev fluctuations on youtube and see if you rev counter is doing the same. (it has similar ZF gearbox)
As for the noise you hear, on key on/off. This could be the EGR valves left and right.
Please fill in profile your cars profile including colour. Only very early car would NOT have the software that moves the turbo actuator. so a 2009 would
Yes you need to get to the turbo actuator and see if it is stiff. Wynns fuel additive is another way to free it, as it does it from the inside where it is sooted up,( best to see if it is stiff first really).
If you get a linkage tool in there, leave it in the middle position.
A blanking remap is for EGR removal and unrelated to your problems. Maybe not worth the £200 ATM
Another thing you could try is disconnecting the EGR's and turn key on/off.
Turbo linkage movement software is only to help things in the cars early life. At this age you will need to do things to free the turbo yourself.
Please start another thread to discuss problems not related to the turbo, for futher input from anyone.

Also aswell please how do you remove the heat shield at the top of the turbo I have undone the 8mm bolt but cannot feel any more it will only bend upwards so I can get my fingers on a ball behind the return pipe but then it feels like it’s solid plastic not a rod

If you go back to the turbo stuck thread , you will see a picture of how to make a tool up to push and pull the arm out of a coat hanger or stiff bit of wire

Made one to copy that and it worked a treat.
WD40 long spray tube with bendy straw attached along with the earth wire from T&E cable threaded through, this allow the bend to stay in place.
WD40 itself is not ideal due to the temperatures involved but not much that is high temp is easily sprayable. There is a repair kit of an actuator rod and bolt but no access to fit, it does rather indicate that LR consider it an issue if they supply a kit.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
