Good Evening All. Hopefully someone on Disco3 could offered a bit of help
Have anyone got a front winch fitted, along with cruise control ??
I have a Range Rover Sport G4, and have posted on RRS.co.uk http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic5132.html?highlight= with some excellent feedback,
Problem I have is that the sport has (or meant to) Adaptive cruise control with forward alert, but mine does not work, Landrover are saying that this is because a winch is fitted, so can not have the cruise, Also the winch and top light were disarmed, I presume when these vehicle were released from landrover, Have found the connection for the top lamps, but cannot find the switch for the winch ?? presume the G4 D3's were wired in a similar way ??
Do any of you guys with a winch, also have cruise ??
Any input would be appreciated
TIA

Hi, I guess the adaptive cruise control works from the parking sensors. My front PDC had to be disconnected when the winch was fitted because as the winch protruded infront of the PDC they wouldnt work properly. Aparently the first instruction in the winch installation manual is "disconnect the front PDC"
Hope this helpsDuncan

Adaptive cruise doesn't use the parking sensors, there is a separate radome which I guess is masked by the winch.......not really sure on the rrs but either way, I guess the radome could be mounted in such a way as to not get scatter from the winch.

D3's don't have adaptive cruise. The box for acc on a RRS sits in the bumper spoiler, right behind where the winch would sit. There's no way to have acc and a winch. Normal cruise would work fine - depending on the ecu involved (ie if only acc fitted, you would lose all functionality).
I've got cruise (not adaptive though) and a winch.
Works fine, but my front parking sensors don't.
You won't find a switch for the winch, LR disabled them all as they say it is illegal for them to sell one with a working winch, so no remote (no switch as AFAIK it works from the remote) and no possibility of LR giving you one. Roof lights also illegal, hence fuses removed.
Also, did yours have the roller fairleads removed?2006 G4 Challenge Support Vehicle

I think doctor Deisel is right, the radome sensor for the adaptive cruise must be obscured by the winch, hence your problem, i am assuming the winch stickes out the front of the car. i would look at getting the sensor out from where it is and mounting it just above the winch so that it cant see the winch.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

Thanks Guys for the rapid replies, yep, relies the D3 does not use the ACC, Was wondering if you have a winch, do you have standard cruise, ?
The radome sit in the front airguide, to the left hand side of the car,, so is to one side of the winch, Even if I could get standard cruise working would be good
Planning a trip down to the Pyrenees ,for some offroading, in a few months, darn cruise would be very handy for the trip down !!!

The ACC module is here

I don't think its simply a case of just moving it TBH, I would think that part of the operation of the system is set up around the positioning of this unit.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yes there are a number of D3 members with winch and working cruise control. Standard cruise control should not be affected in any way by a winch 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yes as DG said, the acc is probably calabrated for the unit to work in the possition it is in, moving it will change that calabration, however i think maybe working 90% is better than not working at all.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

Hi DD, Mmm, thought they unplugged the gear !! correct, no remote, but have a few of them, and even when connected up, still does not work, Behind the winch is the Warn switch box etc,but also hidden away behind the battery is a solenoids, which powers up the main winch contacts,
No roller fairlead, but they were using orange plasma type rope, (which was removed) but do have the fairlead for the plasma, In the boot was the org/new warn steel cable!!
The winch kit doesn't come with a roller fairlead, it comes with a lettrbox type steel one which works fine with the steel cable. If they left on the fairlead they used on the event it's probably be one of the D4x4 stainless ones that are about the best you can get for use with synntetic rope. If you want to get the same rope they used on the event I can let you know where to get it from.
Download the winch fitting instructions from the owner info site, you should be able to work out from them what they've removed/disconnected to prevent the winch from working. You say you have a few remotes but do you have the correct one for the 9.5XP?The End

All my lights and winch were disconnected but the supplying dealer re-connected them all for me but could not fit the fuses due to the regs. I popped the fuses in and bingo, lights and winch all operating 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
