I thought the rear 12v socket was dead (turned out to be an issue with the coolbox plugged into it thankfully). so tried to get the fuse out. simplz ?
about 40 mins later after much cursing, gave up on removing it and tested across it with multimeter hoping beyond everything it was intact …. and it was.
is there a trick ? the supplied tool won't even go on it..

If you have big hands like me the only choices you have are find a child to pull the fuse or get a very long nose pliers

by way of comparison, the world record for VW Beetle engine swap is 1 m 6 s. and IIRC, that's better than the time to change one of the spark plugs on the VW.
the suggested tool … looks ok but I had had ideas for a better version BUT the long plastic one is coming up at 57p delivered on Amazon. can't compete.

Nah, I have a few souvenirs from Dark Bluie. Anything that fitted my D4, and was likely to need, were kept.
Regretting never quite getting round to buying the long reach fuse tool.
Should fuse 63 be added to yearly service items ? Right PITA..

Jut stick it on the service request list, after preventative engine swap.
ISTR Robbie recommended surgical grip thingies, like we all saw in M.A.S.H. many, many years ago.
