2010 GS Disco Brake Light Warning Lamp.
Hi all.
My brake pad warning light has just popped up on my screen and reading the net am I correct in thinking only the front pads have the warning sensors fitted?
If so I baffled as both fronts back in March had new discs, pads etc changed and I’ve done less than 4k in miles on them.
So can someone say if the backs have sensors or have I read summit that’s incorrect?
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

There is a front and rear sensor but only on one side of the pair of pads- if you have a sticking calliper it can wear a pad quickly, but you might also just have a broken sensor cable.Must stop buying shiny toys....

D4 rear pads tend to wear faster than D3 rear pads, sensor is on the offside rear.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Is it a ‘pad’ warning light, or a ‘ brake fluid’ warning light ? Check your brake fluid level, it’s not unknown for a 2010 vehicle to have corroded rear brake pipes. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

That symbol refers to general brake system problems…..ie. low brake fluid, worn pads, handbrake not working etc….
Sorry pic won’t upload, it is in my gallery.
