What are you blokes with TDV6 SE's averaging around town for fuel consumption? When I first got mine I am sure she was around 11-12/100 then went up to 17-18/100 the dealer reloaded the software and it went back to 11-12/100 briefly now it back to 17-18/100 and yes I drive with an eggshell accelerator. Haven’t been on any highway trips since the reload so cannot state statistics on that. Any suggestions? before I go back to LR yet again?

First longish highway trip driving with light accelerator when new 8.7 L/100
Now cant get near that, best 10 L/100.
Around town before comp. upgrade 12.3 L/100
After upgrade 10.3 L/100 for a wile now back to 12L/100
Has anyone got figures for hard off road, like a Simpson trip ie. sand ?

Around town with some freeway driving - 11lt/100km after the software upgrade. This is with the Wranglers on. With the Cooper STT's I get 12+lt/100km.
With High Country offroading I will be up around 16-20lt/100km depending on the terrain. Not sure what it would be like on a lot of sand - I'm sure it will be around the same range.

I get abour 13l/100km around town. Got down to 9.3 on a run to Bright. Get about 13 towing a camper trailer (1,400kgs). Sand drove for about 280km's around Robe/Beachport/Southend in SA and got about 17l/100. Pretty hard going including dunes and heavy beach.

I agree with about 17l/100km in soft sand. From memory i think RichardK gor 16.5l/100km on the CSR.
I currently get between 13 and 15l/100km on the highway, but i've still got the rooftop tent and rack on; and they add several litres per 100km.
I'd get it checked out Kenso. Maybe the software didn't take properly the second time. I had to have the 'enhancement' loaded twice. Have a nice day!

In your post you sugested fuel consumption went up with the Cooper STTs,
is this correct ? Or was some other factor coming into play ?
I assume you leave the STTs on all the time now, How do they go on
the road and do they wear faster on road ?
Thanks for the fuel consumption data,
Just back from trip to town ( 50% highway 50% urban) and got 10.3L/100
It varies a bit, can"t see I drove any differently, bit of a mistory.

contact Agatha Christie, she might help with the mystery.
what was the weather like, was it windy hot, cold . I fimd the wind makes a huge difference on a trip to Adelaide. got 7.2l/100km once due to tail wind but only for 200 kms.

Rob, I run the STT's for bush/farm work, which also means highway travel, and I've found they do add around 1litre/100km. But that was to be expected from the chunkier tread. Have a nice day!

Kenso - is the consumption you are experiencing, actual or as per LCD display? In Sydney, at just off-peak traffic I get 12.5l/100km. My truck at present doesn't have the new enhancements/ updates. Based on the issue you are having I will probably instruct my dealer to refrain from loading them in my upcoming service. '06 Disco 3 TDV6 SE Buckingham Blue

Rob,
As Jamo stated the STT's increase consumption by around 1lt/100km.
I've travelled 8,500km on the STT's and they have worn about 2mm (14mm down to 12mm). They were on and off my D3 twice in that time. Combination of probably 15% off-road and 85% bitumen.

As Jamo said, 16.5 up the CSR, 2000K's of sand at speeds averaging, if I remember right, around 30 km/hr for the 2000kms.
On the black top going back I think it was around 13, with the roof rack acting like an air brake and the D3 fully loaded.
