Fuel Burning Heater update. |
|
Guys,
Another update on my car that is in the dealer this week.
As part of the items that I wanted to have checked, was the Fuel Burning Heater.
Today the dealer has told me that the option that I have in the Menu Setting in the Dash should not be there at all, as it is on the other vehicles that were supplied later.
The reason given is that the software on my car ( not sure which module or version they are refering too though!!) is intended for a Range Rover, not a Disco 3.
And despite the fact that my vehicle has the heater unit in the bonnet, it is only there for initial heating of the engine in very cold conditions.
I have insisted however that I do not expect the option to have been deleted when I collect the car later this week.
Lets wait and see!!

Show them the relevant pages in the Owner's Manual, and ask them why it has been printed there.......
That is the stupidest excuse I have yet heard from a dealer.
They are all as bad as each other....the man on the desk at my dealer insists that the PDC fix doesn't work, and that LR are now redesigning the sensors - yet the workshop manager is fully aware of the problem, and the fix that LR have released. Total incompetence.

mmm the lastest PDF version of the manual only shows the following for the Settings Menu on P94 now...
SETTINGS CHOICE
TRIP DISTANCE UNITS
FUEL USAGE UNITS
EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE
OVERSPEED WARNING
HEADLAMP OFF DELAY
AUTO DOOR LOCK
REVERSE MIRROR
LAZY ENTRY
RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS
Wonder if the new printed book is the same now ?

The words have been removed from the second edition of the manual - but Nigel, you must have the original publication, surely? I am going outside to double-check mine....and it's raining.

On further inspection, I seem to have a vehicle new enough to have the second edition of the user manual for the 2005 MY, the FBH settings stuff was removed by that time.
I think I have the first edition on PDF somewhere - and I am certain it is in there.

Winger,
I can check mine at the moment, its in the glove box of my car which is at the dealers this week.
Come to think of it though I dont think it was in my manual, but its been nearly a year since I first got my car, and a lot of things have happened with my D3 since the heady days of new excited ownership!!!
