Front Discs
Having changed the front pads and sensor on my D3 the other day I realised that I'll probably need to change the discs reasonably soon, plus of course put another set of pads in.
While I'm at it I'm considering what I can do to improve the brakes slightly, and I've been looking at various retailers sites because I'd like to fit Slotted and Drilled discs.
Does anyone have any experiance of either the Britpart or EBC discs?
Obviously I'm not going to scrimp on Brake parts, but are the EBC discs worth paying the extra for?
Or are the Britpart ones as rubbish as their price suggests when compared to the EBCs?
While I'm buying new discs and pads I should really upgrade to V8 parts, but what else will I need, and what will it cost? I understand the clipers are the same so is it just the brackets?
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks

Hi
When my front discs and pads needing replacing recently, I took the opportunity to upgrade to the slightly larger v8 ones. The only extra part required was a new mounting bracket. I've been pleased with them and they do seem a little more powerful.
I've no experience of the aftermarket manufacturers - I wanted to stick with OEM equipment. I bought these through TLO at Yeovil, who as usual, was a great help and made sure the right bits turned up!
Good luck,
Mark

the only problem with drilled discs is if you get a stone stuck in them whilst offroad driving/wading, the stone will quickly knacker your pads !!Duncan

Thanks Guys, but which slotted and drilled discs did you fit?
Britpart? EBC? Any Other make?
I'll get in touch with TLO to get a price for the new hangers if I decide to go down the V8 Route.

put the V8 discs on the front of my old one (only new carrier bracket required, along with V8 discs of course). Only really noticed the better braking when going back to TDV6 discs. Also, I tried britpart discs, and suffered from brake shake, which went once genuine discs fitted.

Hi mate,
These are the ones I got (i think the same as Wiggs) not much difference but look suberb and Wiggs is right, wheels stay clean way longer!
I think the discs were called Allroad but don't quote me, bad memory i'm afraid.
I got a LR chappy to fit them and he did comment on the quality of both discs & pads.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Guys.
StephenO, I've asked that ebay seller a question 3 times now over several days if he can supply without the pads or sensor because I already have a spare set of pads and he's not bothered answering.
I've noticed this evening that there is a phone number in his contact details so I'll try calling him tomorrow.

Cool,
let me know how you get on, I bought them from a private seller on Ebay, the guy decided to sell his D3 after he purchased them so I caught a bit of good luck (for a change)!
Cheers
