MJFews - just one Junc up M5 from us - bought D3 there and get all servicing done there as well. I could have got it a bit cheaper elsewhere but they have been really good over the years so happy to return some loyalty Duncan

Thought I recognised it! Hasn't changed much there in the last 20 years or so, no ultra-modern buildings/service bays so hence better deals to the customer........nice to have in this day and age... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Congrats DiscoDunc
You have made the decision I have not yet been able to make. D4 to D4 upgrade is a step up from from what I am contemplating.
What is the spec difference between HSE and XS? Both Diesels I presume. Why would you upgrade from HSE to XS, apart from the newer model and presumably the 8 speed box?
Over here I have a choice of only 2. Both HSE petrol, but 4l or 5l engine derivatives. 18 or 19 inch wheels, and that is it.

there was lots of stuff on the HSE i didnt use or need: sunroof, HBA, TV, fairy lights, mood lighting etc.
the new XS was £200 per month cheaper than the 2 year old HSE , which also needed 4 new tyres , taxing and a service.
one thing i will miss though is the dipping wing mirrors when revearsing Duncan

The latest HSE doesn't have HBA or TV.
I would miss the armrests if we changed to an XS! Disco 4 HSE 2012 Orkney Grey

Good logic. The so called HSE badge does have a different meaning in different markets. No TV for me in my HSE badge nor do I have have heated seats , fairly lights... not yet discovered them yet..
Curry hooks... They deliver here...
In so far as all the features goes, I have to confess that I drove my LR for 6 months without realizing that I had a Sport setting and manual shifting opotion
So, yes I have to admit, I will not miss a lot of things. The dipped mirrors I found to be an irritation, so I do not use it.
The one feature I will not give give up is the Xenon lights doing the dance on startup. Apart from the automatic wipers switching on in the car wash, it is my all time favorite feature.
Good luck and enjoy your new LR, I am admittingly, ever so slightly suppressing my jealousy ....

"...new XS was £200 per month cheaper..."
For that money I can lease/HP a new Tiguan for the wife who is currently driving my LR during the week. A lot of money saved there. '09 LR3 4.4 HSE Zermatt Silver
