MHC please update the first post as the platinum offer level is not now available for cars older than 5 years rather than the 7 quoted. Quite a restriction in that specifded parts are now covered under premier and limted to £2500 per claim whereas platinum is all mech and elec breakdown with a few exclusions up to value of car.

Hi Guys.
Thanks for all the comments, so far off this forum we have sold about 15 policies, and a whole stack of road side assistance packages. None have claimed though yet fortunately, or unfortunately for feedback i guess.
Thanks for your comment Mike. This update was actually posted on here, but due to all the public questions, this has got buried on page 7. I have taken this point on board, and had actually changed and updated post 1 on page one of this thread about 15 minutes ago.. to make this clearer for new customers not wishing to read through all the comments/questions which there have been a high number.
Thanks again ..

Hi, thanks for the post.
YES these are very much still available.
We have been selling quite a few over the various forums and direct to our finance customers and public enquiries over the net.
Our GAP insurance products have been doing the best, and we're just revamping a seperate website specifically targetting this product area, as our premiums have been reduced significantly and we are looking to push them out onto the market and compete more fiercely with the likes of the autotrader/ala/direct gap offerings..
We are able to go cheaper then them, so anyone wants a comparative quote before the website is up, let me know.
In terms of the warranties.
Honestly speaking, from the experience i have had so far in dealing with claims directly.
-If you don't follow the stated claim procedure, this causes problems, so i would say on our policies follow it to the dot to avoid problems.
- There has been some confusion over the labour rates, but that has been found to be on the system end, and after a quick phonecall/email this has been sorted out and clarified.
-If the item is excluded from cover, and it is stated as such in the T&C's then this is of course not going to be covered, however we haven't had anyone really claim for anything that is clearly excluded.
- our warranty does not cover items, which wear out or can be seen to deteriorate over time with continuous usage. However our prices are reflective of that against offerings from warrantywise and warrantydirect etc. However our warranty covers very well, the result of sudden failure of mechanical/electrical components.
Suited for indenpendant garages rather then dealers, the claim line leave it mostly to diagnosis from the mechanic/repairer and we have not had a single vehicle inspection as of yet.
We have been selling these since Nov 2009, and have had not a single official complaint/issue arising from the warranty product. I would suggest you read the T&C's carefully and clarify anything you are unsure of before purchase, and we will do our best to help, but i can honestly say, we have been able to stand firm by our product and have had good support over the various enquiries/issues that we have had raised.
We had one client get upset when his Audi A4, he put it through the claim line that his cylinder head had cracked.
His claim was rejected. When he enquired with us, on opening the policy booklet on his level of cover it stated: Covered items: "Cylinder head (excluding cracks and overheating damage)" on the silver cover. So we couldn't fight his corner at all.
Please see the latest T&C's here: http://www.jdconcepts.co.uk/Resources/MBI.pdf
Anything you are unsure of or any help you need please don't hesitate to contact us on: info@warrantyuk.co.uk.
Thanks again.

I had to use it the other month - only for a height sensor.
Whilst it did not pay for diagnosis, the work and parts were covered.
The garage dealt direct and got authorisation - all very efficient. I paid the bill and then sent the invoice in, I received a cheque by return post - only £80 - but very efficient.
Only thing is you need to find a 4x4 specialist who is within the agreed hourly rate - not a problem as I have one locally.
Only a small test - but good so far.

mad max wrote:So, people is this a good warranty to have or not? I have been reading this for hours over and over I would take out the 3year cover with a one off payment A simple yes or no will do me

Sorry Max. I did read this, but can't really answer myself, as i would obviously be biased!
In my view for the price and cover available it is a good product to take out to cover mechanical / electrical failure in your D3.
Platinum is the best level of cover and if your vehicle qualifies you will get the best level of protection.
Compare our product to other warranties on price and i am sure you will not find better, without paying double/triple the premium.
Time will tell as more and more vehicles enter the cover and we see more and more claims, we started selling it in Nov 09 and so far so good, so i guess let's wait and see.
Cheers

You did - and very quickly when they had me listed as the wrong hourly rate - you sorted it quickly.
nealgs - Kam was (still??) doing the breakdown cover included for 3 years as well - so thats £300+ you dont need to spend somewhere else - kind of helps these days.

thanks for the feedback and update Kam/JDB,
We've just renewed our Green flag breakdown for another year (£158, including homestart, and euro cover etc), so won't Kam one - although we could cancel GF's possibly if we go for the warranty - depending on what level cover is provided (compared to GF's).
Will have a think (mainly regarding paying either oneoff or installments) and get back to you Kam if we decide yes
cheers

I have one of Kams warranties and I must say I thought was extremely good value.
Doesn't include wear and tear but I can live with that.
When I made a claim (fuel pump) they paid out without a problem (they're blooming pricey!!!)
My EGR's have now failed so about to put them to the test again.
The labour rate they quoted is very low so you won't get main dealer use unless you pay the difference so you will need a decent independent or utilise one of thier approved dealers.
You also have to pay for diagnosis but for someone with autologic or another box of tricks that shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Strangely though and hand on heart, I had hardly any problems with my car until it was 3 years old!!
So, on my experience so far I can thoroughly recommend. Get in quick before they do a Tesco and withdraw it because I can't see how they'll make money on a D3 warranty Welcome "Lola"

Thanks Gary, if we can help drop me a line: kam@mhasnain.co.uk.
Bigcarpchaser, thanks for your feedback too, glad to hear everything is going ok with warranty.
Yes the labour rate is £60ph which isn't main dealer rates, but as you say, most decent independants/one of their fitters will do the job just as well. Diagnostics shouldn't cost too much, as like you say most have diagnostic systems nowadays so diagnosis doesn't take them too long with most issues.
I run a chauffeur company as well: www.birminghamchauffeurs.com
Our chauffeur cars once out of warranty are all looked after by an independant, and his diagnosis system is straight from merc, so never have any issues, and we've had very obscure parts go including Jammed DVD player, and climate control fan main fan unit failing.. also one parking sensor went haywire, merc quote: £480! independant, done and dusted for £87.00! (merc said bumper off, whole set for rear bumper sensors need replacing) independant, found off diagnostic: one parking sensor was dodgy rear right, and got hand up behind bumper so labour was kept to minimal and part cost: £38.00 from their merc parts supplier, so all good..
Saves to shop around as they say.
Thanks again..
