insurance and modifications |
|
Hi all there are lots of threads relating to insurance and modification of a vehicle, I have modded my d3 extensively with d4 front and rear, spoiler and a few interior upgrades (see my gallery) l contacted my insurance company and asked what their term (has any modification been done to the vehicle)meant, there reply was anything added or changed that is not specific to the model from when it was manufactured unless factory fitted. They listed body modifications, add ons such as A bars/bull bars, side steps, spoilers after market wheels and so on. I told them I had a d4 upgrade and spoiler furnished them with a few photos and all is in order at no extra cost. The moral of this story is if you dont tell your insurance company you are technicaly uninsured if you have an accident whether your fault or not. This bit of advice could save you a lot if you are unlucky enough to have a dishonoured claim.
