EPB lost communications - Resolved
Discovery 3 . Handbrake not working at all.. No communication with diagnostics all other modules showing lost communications with epb module.
After much searching I found an earth splice, corroded so badly that both earths from the epb module had rotted off, in the loom just to left of the epb as viewed from the rear.

Can someone please explain where this is in the harness? Such as spare wheel space 50mm from box section etc.
Thanks

Hi Rich, The break was in the +12v cable (green/yellow) where it splits from a single to the two +12v cables (both green/yellow) to the handbrake unit.
This splice is on the passenger side by the rear wheel. I followed the g/y wired back from the handbrake unit pulling them out of the plastic sheathing. It was tricky to reach and I used the low temp solder / heat shrink connectors.
Hope that helps.
Regards Jim

handbrake
Did you get an errors showing with this or just nothing happening? My handbrake isn't showing any lights other than when first switching on as self check, but nothing happens when I pull or push the handbrake button. I wonder if this is my issue?
