Engine Seized
My 2016 SE tech has seized. It was being driven by my wife, when the dashboard lit up & display said gearbox failure. it lost all power & would not turn over after.
The car is not yet 4 yrs old & has >33k milage fully serviced by the dealership.
What are my next moves? Im not getting anywhere with the dealership, who said they cannot book it in until Mid Feb, however I know they will have to review the car to progress further.
I assume the dealer is a JLR Franchisee, that you have a full JLR service history, and that there is no continuing warranty?
If this is the case I would escalate the matter in the dealership to the dealer principal.

If you have a LR warranty in place (of any kind) then LR Assist should take the car to the dealership. They will then be under pressure (from within 'the system') to look at the car sooner in line with performance targets etc.

Also LRA have to supply you with a courtesy car (for 3 days I think) then the dealership will take it over.. Providing you have warranty of course, but I assume at that age and mileage you bought the extended warranty?? At least I hope you did..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

I find it rather frustrating that we seem to get a few of these. They get lots of advice & offers of help, but don't have the courtesy to respond.
We might have been able to give him good advice about a warranty claim, LRCS, or if he's paying who to use, and who to avoid.
Very sad; I hope it works out for him.
