Double Standards, what do you Think ?
First off it is not my intention of getting at anyone with this post, i am just looking for a healthy debate.
Why, when a post is put on about sat nav discs, whether for sale, or a link to a website selling them, or to download them it is heavily ammended, and all links are removed. Surely as long as this site is not selling them, then what does it matter ?
And then on the other hand you have a site moderator selling copies of mudflaps !!!. ( never saw that post getting deleted )
surely copyright infringement, is copyright infringement no matter what.
SO WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

A copy is a copy surely, just because the lr logo has changed slightly it is still an infringement.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with that, if LR didnt overcharge for there stuff, people would not make copies.
so what is wrong with having a link to a site that you can download the latest disc or mudflaps or anything else for that matter.
I just feel that certain topics get heavily censored ie sat nav discs, when there is no difference between them and mudflaps

There is a big difference between pattern parts (such as any part not in a Genuine Parts box but does the same job) and software piracy.
Selling copied sat nav discs is software piracy. Pattern parts are functionally the same or similar, but not direct copies.
An interesting case is replica wheels - the design is often copied but any wording, presumably trademarks, is altered. This is the same with the pattern mudflaps I understand.
I think if you didn't mean to have a dig then naming your thread "Double Standards..." was the wrong starting point... 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!
