DIY FBH remote
SO me being me, I like to mess and find solutions to problems that have already been fixed 😂
I wanted to turn my FBH on remotely on cold mornings. I found a seller on Ebay from Romania, making a module to interface with the Webasto. It can be operated from a simple on/off switch and was £48 + postage. So I then also ordered a 12v wireless relay from Ebay to act as the switch for £6.
Wired it all up and put in a small tupperware box and installed it in around 5 minutes. It taps into the Wbus wire on pin 2 at the main plug of the FBH. Fired up first time and tested it a few times since. Worked a treat this morning, pressing the on button on the remote from inside the house. 15 minutes later got in the car with the temp guage nearly up to running temparature and instant heat in the cabin.
I know not everyone likes to make stuff and I know modules exist such as the altox, but just buying stuff that works isnt as fun 😂. Disclaimer as well, that I am an idiot, follow what I did at your peril.

Last year some people on here got them from that seller WITH Remote, for as little as £55
They sold like hot cakes
The price rockets when he’s low on stock.
Expect to pay at least £75 now (when back in stock)
There are many variations people make.
Mine has a 15 min timer too

I was going to buy one last year. I the forgot about it unti recently. He does sell the remote version, but its costs about £30 more, all for the sake of a £6 remote. Hence buying them separately and making this up. Its simple but it works.Disco3Hudds - follow on Instagram

I'm interested in doing this (when the price comes back down it's £240 at the moment )
I was just wondering if anyone had any pictures of how they actually 'tapped' this into the wiring?
Thanks,
Andrew
