Disco/RRS safety

Picking up my Disco today (new suspension compressor Very Happy ) I mentioned to the service manager that I saw a wreck the other day between a Rangie and Pick-up truck and the Rangie won. Just a fender bender but enough that both were being towed.

He then goes to tell me that a customer in a weeks old RRS was driving 60+mph when opposing traffic crossed the center line and hit him.

Differential speed of WELL over 100mph.

He walked away.

EMS personal told him they fully expected him to be dead when they pulled up.

They also told him this- in no uncertain terms- “That Land Rover saved your life.”

How cool is that?

The guy now has THREE on order… One for him, his wife and his kid. Now that’s gonna be a good looking driveway!

A Hummer is just a Hummer. A Land Rover goes all the way.

Tim, there is no doubt about it, the cars are very safe. It is a real shame about the stupid electrics and the compressors.

Has anyone seen an NCAP rating for the Disco 3 yet ? I know LR were very keen to get a 5 star rating (which is one reason why there is so much metal in the car = weight) but I haven't yet seen anything to see whether they got what they wanted. The vehicles nearly a year old now so I would have expected to see a rating ...

Doesn't look like they've done one yet:
