Disco 3 suspension sinking
After I leave the D3 over night, it is on the bump stops the next morning.
I finally pulled fuse F26 a couple of days ago and left it to stand. It has definitely lowered on the back right, seems to have also done so on the front right (so right side looks to have lowered) and the back left may have lowered a little but this may be the way the car has sat. The front left is the only corner that doesnt seem to have lowered!
What are your thoughts on what next? I was hoping for either just one corner or front/back/all to have lowered. This hasn't really helped me figure out what is going on! I guess its soapy water and spray time??

well you could replace the seals in the valve blocks and clean out white dust.
Seals are around £15 off ebay.
Start with the front, as that has easier access!

Thanks. I will get the seal kits ordered.
Its been stood a few days now. Drivers side has definitely sunk (both ends). The passenger side has remained at more or less the same height.

This is going to seem really silly, but could someone put up a link to the air suspension seal set please?
If i type in 'Discovery 3 air suspension seals' on ebay, i just get compressor seals.

Thanks for that - i have ordered them. I have no idea why I couldnt find them!
Two more questions if I may...
1. Where are the valve blocks located?
2. Should I renew the desiccant as a matter of course when i refurb the valve blocks?

The front valve block is behind the front bumper on the drivers side, the rear is on the n/s susp turret.
Yes replace the desiccant and filters, if its a Hitachi replace the drier cover too as these tend to crack between the voss connectors. Piston replacement is easy on these too.
If its an AMK the desiccant and filter change usually suffices, along with a strip down and thorough clean of everything except the motor or piston
Be careful of the cyl head seal as it is easily damaged, and if its distorted use a thin smear of Tech 7 to ensure a good seal. Do not scrape or damage the thin protective coating on the cast aluminium surfaces. A light clean with soft brush and compressed air will usually suffice. (see pic)

You can see there is corrosion on this AMK and the seal was damaged too. After a gentle clean and small amount of sealant all was made good again.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I will check what compressor i have and then order the desiccant and cover too if it is a Hitachi. I suspect it is original, but will double check before ordering those bits.
