Greetings to all

Hi to all.

I need help please. i am rebuilding a Disco Td v6 2. (G4 with all the add on's) Bought it with a blown head gasket. Took off the heads and one has a crack and the piston sleeve on the same side is also cracked. I have ordered sleeves and I can get all the needed spares. (big ends, mains, rings, etc) but I am not sure if i am wasting my time and money. A qualified Landy mechanic is helping me. Pointers on what to do and change while the engine is out PLEASE!!

Hi Andrew.

So I called JLR South Africa and you are correct no cylinder lining. We do however get referred to the engineering company who bore out the block and re-sleeve it and take it back to standard piston.

This is the route I will have to go rather than get a recon engine which I have no idea of what kind of life it had. New engine just way above my pay grade.
I just need help from you guys to tell me what to replace while the engine is open. NOOOOO! not the engine just the internals that should be replaced ie: new design oil pump.

regards
