DIII courtesy lighting - anyone made theirs 'whiter'?
Hi,
My 2005 DIII has really 'yellow' interior courtesy lighting both front & rear, has anyone swapped their bulbs in the separate lamps for white LED bulbs to give cleaner, whiter light?
If so can you tell mje the make/part number or send me a link to the bulbs you used?
Thanks,
Nick

I changed mine for LEDs yesterday and they are much brighter and whiter. I bought them all off Ebay for a couple of quid from Hong Kong. I have also got the Hids4u LED side light bulbs and they are a big improvement as well. 8)2015 Discovery 4 HSE Corris with Blackpack

Hi
Yes few of us on here have done them, including myself, get the led sidelights bulbs from hids4u, site sponsor on here!
They are push fit same as oem bulbs but if you push them in one way and they don't work extract and push them in the other way round! This is because they are polarised ie + & -.
Can be used to do your rear number plate lights too

LEDs.
The ones I used for the interior lights are Ebay item no eBay Item No. 300467898600 and for the map lights I used eBay Item No. 150500977832 . I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by sending you these links. The delivery took less than a week from Hong Kong which is pretty good. I'm not sure what they'll be like for sidelight bulbs but they are fine for the interior. I'll be doing the puddle lamps and footwells as well when I get around to it.2015 Discovery 4 HSE Corris with Blackpack

Thanks for that, I hope the forum will forgive if we have breached any rules, not intentional so if you want to remove the links I quite understand - did not think of that aspect!
I used HIDS4U (forum sponsor). Done the sidelights and puddle lights so far, very impressive.
More to come.
There is a thread on here about using red interior lights but I can't find it... ____

jamieklb please look at pics and read URGENT!!!!!!!
6 of these were bought from ebay from a japanese company for small money as yours were.i put them in my doors puddle lights and the front footwell.BUT
this is what happened to all 6 after1 day of installation.
i could smell burning and then noticed the puddle lights had gone from white to blue
i then noticed all the others had gone blue too.i very quickly flicked a puddle light out and the led was just in the process of meltdown as in the second pic.panic ensued and i dragged the other led out all in the same melted state..so please keep an eye on the cheap led bulbs from japan
btw i have got led bulbs from boltonbits in all my interior lights now.they were 12quid a pair so alot more expensive but they dont overheat and are totally reliable
dunc life is tooooo short.enjoy the moment.dont worry be happy
