I have 'jump' started my D3 a couple of times following a flat battery with no issues - other than the electronics has a tizzy fit for a short while, but settles down once I have switched off, allowed the ign to re-cycle and started again.
It's normal to get all sorts of messages, like gearbox failure, brake failure, suspension failure, your engine has fallen out etc etc
Make sure everything electrical is switched off, also try letting it charge for a min or two before attempting to start Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !
